What ilk? You realize, Im not the only who's for tanking right? I dont hate the Rockets. I dont hate Tate or Woods or Nwaba or whoever. Sheesh man. You are being like this crazy stalker bro and its not healthy. Im trying to be nice here but you just want to make this situation confrontational. Quit being a toxic ******* and stop mentioning me.
You're the one who's actually an established poster on here. Someone who should know better. I don't care about randos who create accounts to scream, "Tank! Tank!" I care about you. I plan to blast you until your tone changes. Prepare thyself.
I already said only Dipo and Tucker are gonna give you assets in return. EG is not an asset he is a liability. If they could all be traded fir assets Im all for it we will have max capspace next year. Losing Tucker and Dipo wont affect the team as much we got a lot of depth at the wing spot. To imorove those chances you need to gut the team that means trading Wood away. Just look at tankathon first before you argue man. You aint Han Solo you need to know the odds.
Well yeah almost every star player comes from the draft. How many of those untiuchables are gonna stay with their team till they become contenders? AD was untouchable until he demanded a trade to the Lakers. Thats the risk of tanking teams they get talent but they dont keep that talent cuz they suck. Atlanta for example is gonna lose Trae Young or Collins at this rate.
Seriously, the logic is hilarious. "Every desirable player was drafted, so OBVIOUSLY we can only acquire desirable players through the draft!"
John Collins is 23, Trae young is 22. They are in the playoffs right now. Atlanta will give them their biggest contracts, they are not leaving.
Making the playoffs is different from being a contender, as what you have pointed out multiple times. They're not leaving now the prob is the 2nd extension-3rd extension which is when guys like Kawhi, PG and Dipo have left. How many tanking teams kept their superstars vs lost them to another?
If Atlanta is a good organzation, then they can surround Trae with talent and win in his prime. It all depends on how good Trae and Collins will be and right now its looking really REALLY good. Cam Johnson is also really great. Mostly poorly run teams. The teams that are actually run well can surround their superstars with enough talent.
Reports are they are already fighting. They aint looking good IMO they ok but not really mindblowing. Both Young and Collins are 2nd tier stars I mean Giannis by himself better than 2 of them combined. Celts have Tatum and Brown each of whom are more valuable than Young and Collins combined as well.
And isnt better than Jokic, Embid, or Davis or KAT. And is on a 3 year deal. And will be 28 when his contract ends. And will be looking for max money. Trae young is so much better than Woods as well. We are done here.
LOL. He's comparable to Embiid and Jokic. Already better than KAT. Go cheer for another team, you HOF.
They can just trade Collins later for a win now players. Either way, he's not the only good young player on that roster. They have many and they have time to grow. Trae young can absolutely be a top 10 player, he's 22. And one of the best offensive players in the league. Giannis is also like 4-5 years older and has had plenty of crap teams. Tatum and Brown have been part of a winning situation for a long time. If anything they are good example of drafting players and have it work out. Either way, they have time. They are very young.
As I expected, you can't actually make a point. Go slink under you bed and let the knowledgeable fans discuss.
Desirable locations and big markets will always be the wild card and a fair but unfair advantage. It is what it is. No marquee free agent is ever going to look at Toronto, Milwaukee, OKC and places like that as a first option. The draft is method to which these teams can hope to achieve relevance. From there you have to take your chances and hope your rising stars stick around. The salary cap gives these teams the means to do that, though, and gives them ability to offer the most money/years. That’s your best bet if you’re talking about a full blown rebuild. That said, I’m all for retooling-on-fly if the opportunity presents itself. I’m just bracing myself for the reality that rebuilding through the draft very well might be our best option.
This is all a circular argument. People are gonna say you need the top picks to get good talent while saving money. Then others will say it doesn’t matter if you draft a young stud because you have to gut your team to do it. It’s all sort of a crap shoot so I’d rather stay competitive. At the end of the day I just enjoy watching Rockets wins. I would only celebrate a loss if we were mathematically out of playoff contention
We have lots of top picks on this team. John Wall 1st - 2010 Victor Oladipo 2nd - 2013 Boogie Cousins 5th - 2010 Dante Exum 5th - 2014 Ben McLemore 7th - 2013 Eric Gordon 7th - 2008 Those are 5 VERY HIGH Picks - already on the team, and not one of them did we draft.....and we got rid of Caboclo - 20th pick and we had Anthony Bennet last year a former number 1 pick. RETOOL !!!! DD
