ESPN making threats now. "Texans need to be very careful now. His agent is very powerful! They do not need to hold him hostage." Lol.
So with this said, what does that have to do with my posts about chicago and washington. They're both not contenders and for good reason. Are you a gambler? I am and heavy. I know perfectly well how odds work.
Not sure if a trade like this would ever happen again, but I would demand a Herschel Walker type of return for the only franchise QB this organization has ever had: 4 position players, 3 firsts, 2 seconds, one third, and one sixth.
How you lose matters in the NFL. In one game flukes can happen, that's the nature of the NFL Playoffs, unlike say the NBA. That being said, would you consider last year's Rockets contenders? They got into the Playoffs and beat a team that was clearly inferior to them in 7 games, and then they won a game against the Lakers and then proceeded to get blown off the court the next 4 games. This is similar to the Texans last year, barely beat the Bills, had initial success vs KC and then gets blown away.
Who is considered a contender or not before the playoffs start is kind of meaningless though. Would it be unlikely for Chicago or Washington to make it far? Sure. but they both had good defenses so all that would need to happen is them winning the TO battle each game with a game management offense, that's not really that unheard of.
We will **** this up by playing hardball through the draft and then will realize we have to trade him after that and will waste next season. Count on it. It is as predictable as it was that we would hire a coach no one wanted.
It's really not fair to compare the NBA to the NFL because the NBA has a best of 7 series so it's highly unlikely the better team loses a series unless there aer injuries.
Fully expect the media to try and pressure the Texans to "take whatever you can get... it may not be much..."
That was the divisional which doesn't matter any ways because I never talked about the Texans? I said crazy things happen in ANY game, it's happened for the Texans sometimes. Being up 30 or whatever to KC was because of a few crazy things that happened.
Dan O was just on ESPN telling the Texans that they need to be very careful and they better not hold him 'hostage' because his agent is very powerful...
Not surprising... this is the "Astros baseball scandal" story for them in 2021... and they have 7 months to run with it.
You could get 10 first rounders and there is no guarantee that you will get a QB like Watson. Pretty much every young QB in the league except Mahomes has warts. Make this trade and we will end up with a Goff, Wentz, Darnold situation where you’re still not sure if he’s a franchise guy but you end up paying him anyway. God this sucks...
At this point my hatred of the media and trying to force this trade topples my hatred of Cal and Easterby. I want them to play extreme hardball. Just let Watson sulk as long as it takes even if he sits out an entire season. I want to see the absolute insanity espn will go through b****ing about the Texans.
