Well he's the best QB in the draft class so it's either the Texans or another bad franchise. That's just how it works for franchise QBs.
The Texans were smacking KC around...A YEAR AGO. Now, yes, BOB is an idiot but Watson was not perfect in that game...and yet people act like the Texans were trash every year he's been here when it simply isn't true.
True. He didn't report anything that we didn't already know weeks ago. Orchestrated drips of info to make the story last as long as possible and get more clicks. That's all the news is anymore.
You know........ swap Stafford (+ #7) for Ryan/#4 and increase the draft capital... You can never argue *any* deal is "good" under this **** show of a scenario. But......... that wouldn't be too bad.
Yes. Ask the 2020 #5 Buccaneers. Or the 2019 #6 Titans. Or the 2017 Eagles, who had to start their back-up QB. Is this your first year to watch the NFL?
I know people don't agree but the timing of the release is suspicious and feels like ESPN doing it's usual ESPN thing and trying to assert their power here. Right after we hire a new coach, presumably to appease Watson, they re-drop this story and sell it as if he's done it today to make it seem like "Coach doesn't matter, TRADE HIM NOW." Schefty was on ESPN just now scolding the Texans that they need to just get rid of him, trade him NOW, and that they'll lose leverage if they do not do so and that he's going to ruin the season. Eh, if I'm Caserio, I call the buff. Only person i'm trading Watson for RIGHT NOW is another franchise QB, otherwise, I start the season and see how serious he is. It didn't hurt the Rockets to wait and it won't hurt the Texans to do so, especially if there is a chance that Watson backs off of his demands.
[Adam Schefter on First Take] "What Deshaun Watson feels, is not exclusive to him, in that organisation. Having spoken to many people in that organsation, there are similar gripes, similar unhappiness, and Nick Caserio has stepped into a burning building, and that building has caught fire even more"
no you're not a contender just bc you made the playoffs. so you're saying chicago and washington were actual contenders. no
He's exactly right though in this sport lol. Upsets happen all the time. Teams get hot at the end of the year and go to the Superbowl pretty often. You only have to win 3 games and any game anything can happen.
I find it humorous that many of you are thinking about massive trade packages. I will save you the suspense: texans play hardball and say they won’t deal DW DW threatens holdout as he has his signing bonus $ and rookie contract Texans let the draft come and go without making a trade Texans decide 3 games into the DW-less season to trade DW, get a lesser haul than what they could now as teams offer less 2021 season turns into another 4-12 and while the team loses consistently on the field, they do set the NFL record for largest post-game prayer circles Cal continues to spend his days in his jammies watching cartoons and eating apple sauce
