He had an underwhelming rookie year, but a QB that was drafted #5 one year ago and is entering the second year of his rookie contract is not a negative asset. There are plenty of teams that would trade for Tua if the Dolphins made him readily available.

I don't think the Texans will trade him until like a few days before the draft.

Take the Jets package without Darnold. Trade the no.2 down to take the Alabama WR and use the rest of picks on best defensive players available. Sign Stafford for 3 years, If you can get more decent draft capital for Watt go ahead. I’d only take the MIami deal if they threw in even more picks.

If culley talks DW4 off the ledge he should get a statue in front of NRG.

Lawrence straight up would be a reasonable deal, IMO.

The Jets could certainly make a dream offer, but will they give up that much draft capital? I think Darnold/#2/#23/#34/and a 2022 1st rounder is a deal the Jets would definitely do, and the Texans should consider. You actually still draft a QB, but have Darnold play. If Darnold plays well, you get a Brees/Rivers situation, but unlike San Diego you either trade Darnold or the young QB away for more assets instead of spending 2 years waiting to choose and watching Brees get hurt and getting nothing in return when he left. I guess that really means its more of an Alex Smith/Patrick Mahomes or possibly Alex Smith/Kaepernick situation.

If we’re taking a QB back, give me Tua over Darnold.

It sounds like he already jumped. We’re gonna need a cliffhanger situation.

They’d be stupid to do it before then have to wait for every possible deal to materialize. Then again our owner has a rats nest where his brain should be so who knows.

you aren’t going to win any games with darnold at qb, you’re better off drafting Wilson or fields. This is going to be a total rebuild

I can't trade with Dolphins. Basically getting our own picks back, feels weird,

There is probably a greater than 50/50 chance Lawrence is a bust.

Any trades with Darnold and Tua included aren't appealing to me.

I'd rather get an extra pick or two than them.

Yeah, I could see it. I just wouldn’t think it lined up with their time frame.
Trevor is the most can’t miss QB to come out since Luck. And one of the most highly touted QBs ever to come out.
He’s basically a bigger, more athletic Deshaun.

Maybe so. I just don’t see a short, average athletic lefty being very good.

Nothing that has transpired over the past 12 months has felt "not weird".

Exactly. I don’t like left handed qbs and Darnold his hot garbage.

Very true and this is exactly what will happen. They will ask Deshaun where he likes to live and make it work for him.

Jets deal is the only deal that makes sense and D4 suffers a few years.

Tua Tagovailoa was widely considered a left-handed Drew Brees before last season’s draft. His biggest plus attributes were his ability to throw with elite accuracy and anticipation. The big question surrounding him is will he ever be the same player after the hip injury he suffered at Alabama? Last season, it didn’t look good. This year, he is two seasons removed from the injury, and his play will go a long way towards answering that question.

Regardless of your or my own personal opinion of his talent, there are plenty of QB-needy teams that would trade for a player with his college pedigree right now.
