Yes. Which is why I think people presuming that if this all plays out, the Texans end up with a young promising QB, may be surprised. They at least have Watson under contract... that’s more than they’ll have with any potential draft pick.
There is a competition going on in Houston Who is the worst owner/management in the City Texans are winning Rocket River
I agree with this. Why would Lawrence, who is used to winning and replaced Watson at Clemson, want to go to play for the Texans?
It's almost like the Astros winning in 2017 angered the sports gods so much that the city of Houston is cursed. Here is what happened since 2017 -TF became owner of the Rockets -cheating scandal -McNair hired Easterby Houston sports may never recover. I've never seen a city this cursed in my lifetime.
I expect Caserio will get a good haul or not trade him at all. But this would be an unprecedented trade so it's hard to even put a value on it -- if it's the Jets, let's say the #2 pick and then how many #1s after that? Then you better hit on all of those picks the next couple of years to even begin to think about getting real fans back. They've dug themselves into a grave here.
If they deal him to Miami, they would be receiving Tua in return. Otherwise, I agree. I doubt Zach Wilson or Trey Lance would try to steer himself away from the organization, but it wouldn’t shock me if Justin Fields did.
Hence why it’s not a slam dunk they trade prior to the draft or until they get so far overwhelmed with an offer from an approved team that they can’t say no. And the Watson smear campaign could actually result in making it so toxic that this carries out longer than they want.
Funny but i've heard some of that chatter - based on a return package of Super Christian Jimmy Garropolo!!
I’m really struggling to think of one. For the past few years I’ve just been repeating to myself “at least we have Watson”
