Given what we've heard, I wanted to start a thread to discuss trade packages.

Let's keep the debate, disgust, and dismay in one of the other threads on D Wat.

I posted this article in another thread, but I think its the best I've seen on what actually Caserio should be asking for from other teams.

    https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2021/...ial-trade-offers-jets-jaguars-dolphins-texans

All of these trades (sans Godfather deal) give us a chance to rebuild. Although it would be tough to send him to Jax, I'd love to replace him with another Clemson star. This probably not going to happen, but it would seem to give us most value for the star we'll be giving up. The Jets trade is next best for me given the sheer draft capital, but Miami isn't bad either.

The number one pick and drafting Lawrence would be the best case scenario, but not as likely as the others.

The Texans won't get back equal value for Watson from anyone.

But the Jets trade gives you the most. If the Texans end up with Wilson with the number two pick I'd be pretty satisfied.

Not so much if the Texans drafted Fields.

JAX will not be giving up the 1st pick - not even for D4.

Jets point blank.... At minimum this year's and next year's 1st /2nd rd picks + Sam Darnold or Quentin Williams... If you like Justin Fields, take Quentin ... If you don't like any of the QBs (Lawrence goes 1st) , take Darnold... Period!

Yeah, I don’t see Jacksonville being a trade partner.
Jets offer is what I would be looking at. 4 first, 2 seconds and a young defensive stud.
Take Wilson with the 2nd overall and have to draft well.
Move Watt for whatever you can, hell id personally try to see what we could get for Tunsil too.

Agreed, except take Wilson instead of Fields.

What if QBs start pulling the Eli Manning treatment on the Texans!?!? Yikes!

Yeah, if that happens I don’t know lol.

Good thing i don’t see any NFL royalty families trying to push their kid to a specific city.
And if we got Phillip Rivers talent out of it I’d be ok.

Is Wilson or Fields religious enough?

Trevor Lawrence would fit that bill - I wonder if the team would try to move heaven and earth to try and get him - say sending JAX most of the return for Watson? Seems like a Texan thing to do.

Personally I would trade Watson to Jacksonville for their 1st and 2nd. I know that’s not enough for Watson.
But it gets a highly touted QB and out of the contract.
We all know that won’t happen.
Wilson is the next best thing imo, and to answer your question he went to BYU so there might be some religiousness in there lol

Looking at those deals I want more. How far out can nfl teams trade picks? Jax is interesting but damn it would be almost unthinkable to trade him in the division. Jets ****ed us and ****ed themselves by not getting the 1st pick.

You think they would trade Trevor for Watson? I think they’re too far away to do that.
If it was Miami (through us) that had it I could see them doing it.

Way I look at it is that Lawrence might be worth EVERYTHING to Jack Easterby thus the Texans would not only send JAX Deshaun Watson, but not require the same haul that other teams would have to give up and even sweeten the pot for JAX as crazy as it sounds.

And the charlatan and Caserio would have earned the hate they get. Even more so than they have already.

Dolphins. 2 firsts this year, 2 seconds this year, 1 first next year, and Tua.

    That’s pretty realistic I think...

Thats scary to think about. This team could get a monumental, even historic return in a trade for Watson, but they would accept a much lesser package to target THEIR GUY .. and with our luck Lawrence flames out!! LOL

Watson is a known commodity, we know what he can do with mediocre talent around him. He’ll be in the mvp conversation for the next 10 years and with competent management should have you in super bowl contention every year. Tbh I don’t know much about Lawrence other than people are very high on him. If I’m the jets I make that deal. Sadly it’s a moot point though.
