Really? All Watson or agent has to say is....... "Yeah, well I play for the Texans" and everyone objective will understand why Watson wants out.
When was the last time a top quarterback was traded at this age? I mean, you're going to give a team a franchise quarterback for at least a decade. The draft picks received have to be historic. What a disaster.
It's just crazy how not so long ago, we were enjoying what seemed like a golden era in houston sports... all 3 teams... wtf.
Cal had a simple choice, Easterby or the team. That choice will simply be the downfall of the franchise for the foreseeable future.
$100 right now, let’s Venmo to a third party. he won’t fold. Let’s go. you’re bluffing and blatantly racist.
Ya this completely ignores the basic desire of a NFL player to build their legacy. Watson isn't going to sit extended periods of time during his prime years in the league.
I feel like that's best case scenario. Their 2 FRP this year and another next year should suffice. Throw in a third rounder or two and you've got yourself a deal. Justin Fields becomes your new face of the franchise... who ever thought they'd be saying that in 2021 after Deshaun just signed his extension in 2020. F**ckin Texans, I swear.
I think that's the CRAZY part. We haven't even been a cost saving franchise from what I can gather. We've extended / raised BOB while still paying Gaines's salary. Still paying BOB salary right now, and ended up paying Nick Casserio a TOP 3 GM SALARY. It's not even about the money! It's about this "culture." Unbelievable.
They certainly could if they dug in their heels. Watson has no leverage. He's signed long term and the Texans own him. Now I think the most likely scenario is some team comes up with an amazing trade package that blows the Texans away and they accept in order to dump the head case player, but if that trade doesn't appear, they can simply make Watson show up or retire. Personally I'd prefer it if they forced him to show up or retire. Either way, it would be a win IMO.
