Who is rooting for anybody to fail. Talk about being a b****. Please show me one instance of me rooting for him to fail or STFU! Dude you need help.
So who has hardens and sweets double lockers now? I would assume pj cause hes the old head and he gotta lotta shoes
Poster is being positive while you are doing exactly you. Passive aggressive negative takes. Of course poster was being hopeful, he literally said "I'm hoping".
Just for clarity, he wasn't accused of domestic violence (unless there is another story I missed). He was accused of punching a woman 'breaking up' a fight between her and his sister. It's still ****ed up and I dont feel great nitpicking around violence against women. But I think it's different than, oh I don't know - guy chokes his girlfriend during an argument...etc
Anyone know when he can start playing? I’m really happy with this trade and think if he gets his head on straight he will be a big part of our team if we make some (expected) trades
Especially when almost every single player on the current roster is new. SMH. Some guys just want to see the world burn.
He can start playing now but the team said they aren't going to let him suit up until they build a solid support system around him and help him through his issues first. My guess is he doesn't play for another week or two.
I would hope it would be a little longer. He isn't going to crack the rotation at this point anyways and I rather we focus on a long term program to rehabilitate this young man. We obviously need to keep him around the team since basketball is likely what is keeping him same, but definitely should not build any expectations until be proves he is committed to get better. I'm really happy John Lucas is on this team. Really hoping we can save this kid's life.
This is great that he is already practicing with the team. Will be interesting to see how the Rockets handle this. Whatever they do, they need to keep the kid busy on a basketball court as well life lessons with Lucas. Sounds like basketball is a great outlet for him and he was robbed of that due to the pandemic last year and made some dumb choices. Let's hope the consistent structure of the NBA will allow him to mature but it will take him to buy in about wanting to change and become a professional. Tough task at the age of 20.
From what I've gathered, it's not the specific incident here that concerned the Cavs as much as it was the people he associates with. Like you can't put yourself in these situations and say it wasn't foreseeable. The Cavs apparently moved his family (at their own expense!) to Cleveland and tried to create a bubble for them to get them all out of that crowd and it didn't work.
With all due respect to his family, moving his family to live with him is probably not the best path for this young man. I realize he needs to help take care of his family but that doesn't necessarily mean he needs to carry the burden of living in the same city as them. That is a recipe for disaster. You can't cut the kid off from his family and vice versa but got to figure out a way for them to live comfortably in a nearby city. Isn't that what every Mom wants? To get their kids out of the same situation they have always been in and let them be free to become their own human being? Maybe miracle worker Lucas can rehab this family and help them heal from all of their scars. Poor Lucas is going to be very busy but we all know he is up to the challenge. The man has boundless energy at the age of 67 and never gives up on anyone or anything.
