Yes, I have noticed that as well. As far as I know there has been zero discussion of Rodions DV charges being discussed since the trade... no talk of him choking his girlfriend unconscious.... @Dairy Ashford .... I wonder why that would be? Why would we possibly hear constantly about Porter’s claim and not the guy that actually has criminal charges against him.
I'm telling you this kid is very special talent wise. More game tape I see of him the more impressed I get over his skillsets and athleticism. His body control in the air reminds me of a young Kobe and his ball handling skillsets remind me if a younger Harden. He's very special talent wise. Man I hope this kid turns his life around. Such talent wasted would be so shameful. If his head is in the right place he has the talent to be a core piece of an elite team. Skillset wise the one flaw I see in his game is his release point on his jumper seems rather low and can maybe be easily blocked.
Because KPJ is more relevant to the current news cycle, has much higher perceived upside, was a high draft pick, etc
Silas said in pregame yesterday it will be a while before he plays in a game. They are working on a plan and structure for him to get his life together before then I guess. Excited to see him though.
“The main word that you use is developing. He hasn’t played in a while, so it’s going to be up to us to really come up with a good structure for him, on and off the court, for him to be successful. We’re committed to that. He obviously is very talented, he’s versatile on both ends of the floor. He can do a lot on the basketball court. We feel like we have the structure in place to let him be successful. I spoke to him last night, and he’s excited about the potential of adding to our group. It’s up to us to have honest conversations, back and forth, and develop a relationship. But it’s an exciting thing, to have a young guy who has potential. I feel like, with what Rafael [Stone] has done and what Tilman [Fertitta] has done and what I’m trying to do, kind of aligns with putting something together to where he can be successful. We don’t really know what the next step is, as far as when he’s going to be coming down, and what the plan is. That’s something, we’re going to have to sit down and really think about what’s best for him, and what’s best for our group. He hasn’t done much in a little while. He’s been working out at high schools in Cleveland, just trying to stay in shape, but that’s nothing near playing in an NBA game. So I wouldn’t anticipate him playing in an NBA game relatively soon. We just have to make sure that the structure is in place for him to be able to succeed on the basketball floor, as well as off. https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...-add-kevin-porter-jr-but-debut-isnt-imminent/
I think you need to read into John Lucas some more. The guy is pretty much a definition of a specialist.
Charges that were dropped for both guys. I'm glad both young guys are on the team and think they both have poitential to be really good players.
I think it’s safe to say that given John Lucas’ track record, he will involve real specialists for much of Porter’s rehabilitation.
I’ve actually seen stuff about rodions . but the level of talk in general is way higher about porter given we think he has a higher upside
Kevin Porter Jr. is 20 years old, A person brain isn't developed until 25 years old. I hope he Matures into a Man and takes his job seriously because he might never see this job ever again. I hope he gets therapy, with John Lucas hopefully he is happy and playing minutes after the trade deadline.
Porter is so talented that his acting up or problems must be pretty severe for Cleveland to just dump him. Sure hope for the best.
This is just not true at all and is pushing a stupid narrative. Look in Rodions thread, it’s discussed just as much if not more than KPJ issues. People need to stop looking for black vs white issues when they aren’t there.
