Would love to pull one over on the Blazers twice in one season. They have some contracts that look pretty bad right now but only for 2 years (unless they are team options?). Derrick Jones Jr, Rodney Hood and Covington are not living up to their $9-12 mil contracts this season. They could also use Tucker. I really hope this is the deadline we trade Gordon. I am mostly okay with him but would rather see Sterling Brown and Mason Jones take his minutes to see what we have in them.

Would be crazy if Stone could get Covington back here for pennies on the dollar.

Harden probably told him to go sign with BKN real fast, and see you there soon

Was it the system or Harden or both? Being with the Nets makes a lot of sense.

He would have been great next to Wood, oh well. Someone like him, big 6'8 body who can rebound, hit that corner 3, play the dunk spot, and defend the rim.
Derrick Favours if he hadn't got that enormous contract?
I am all for giving Jonah Bolden a roster spot and cutting Bwuuno. Don't see what Caboclo offers at all over Bolden. Might as well take a flyer on a guy with a higher BBiq

    Rebuild!
Wall for Rozier/Zeller. Wall goes home to lead a young group into the playoffs. We get Rozier and Zeller expiring.
Gordon/House for Drummond/KPorterJr. Cleveland gets some size and vet leadership in their young dynamic backcourt, value for expiring big they don't want and a malcontent.
Tucker for Smith/Nader. Tucker teams back up with CP, we get a young big with potential Smith.

Buyout Cuz so he can catch on somewhere with a chance. Dump Clemons with a 2rp if anyone will take it.

    Starters
    Oladipo - McLemore - Tate - Wood - Drummond
    Rotation
    Rozier - Jones - Nwaba - Brown - K.PorterJr. - Smith - Zeller
    Bench
    Kurucs
    IR
    Clemons - Exum
    2 way
    Martin Jr. - Thomas

In bold are the contracts that would carry over to next year at least.

Official auditions for Oladipo and Drummond. If nothing else, you've picked up some bench firepower in Rozier and KPJ, a decent prospect in Jalen Smith and a ton of caproom next offseason to go with all those draft picks.

Bruno was waived during Harden trade to make room for Exum and Kurucs.

No point in keeping Wood during the two tank years. Who would you flip him for?

I was thinking Bagley + Haliburton.

I believe the opposite, point is to build around Wood.

This kid is consistently putting up 25 and 10 with OR without an All Star on the team.

And Wood is better than overrated Bagley.

Rockets are building around these 2 guys.

Make your trades proposals for Wall.

Or any other players not named Wood or Oladipo.

    Wood is a complimentary piece.

3-4 option on a championship team.

Defenitely not someone you build around.

Major points for creativity. The Rockets probably do this trade in a heartbeat. If, for nothing else, to move Wall’s contract and go all-in on a full rebuild. A total flush of all of the DM era complimentary pieces, and frankly, that’s what’s necessary at this point. For all parties involved.

Having said that, as much as we’re all rooting for Wall he’s still a negative asset. Charlotte would be insane to do that, IMO. Would require draft compensation. Same with Phoenix trading a top 10 draft talent for PJ.

But again, I like your thinking. This is very creative and well done.

I’ll wait till we learn more about Wall’s condition. Right now, I don’t think there’s a trade out there that wouldn’t also require us to give up draft picks. I think we just have to hope he comes back soon and this isn’t a chronic issue with him (it’s looking like it very well could be).

You lost me at that last sentence.

$13M for AD Lite numbers is definitely something any team can build around.

It is very unlikely Wall is traded this year unless the Rockets are giving up some of their draft picks so someone takes him.

Tucker and House are my bet for players moved.

Build around Wood? Wood is not a franchise player. Third option at best on a contender.

His numbers look great, but his production is empty. If he was a legit defensive presence (like Bam, Giannis, AD), then I’m all for it. But he’s already 25, and gonna be looking for a max in two years.

Not even if we take back a bad contract?

    Something like:

    Pelicans: John Wall
    Rockets: Steven Adams, Lonzo Ball

This doesn’t seem impossible. Throw a couple SRPs if we have to.
