Dont know if its the new toy effect but I havent been interested in and excited by the rockets like this in years. As per championship i do think we can get it this year. Anything is possible. If gsw did it then anyone can. Nobody saw Warriors as serious contenders or god forbid title favorites the year they started winning. They were just a playoffs contenders. Just one of the 7-10 teams for which it would be reasonable to expect to get into the playoffs.
I think him being traded for LeVert, who is now out indefinitely from a mass being found on one his organs, is definitely a strong reason to feel gratitude. Never know what turn life can take.
Does anyone here think we can be a top 10 defense with Oladipo, Wood, Wall, Tucker all starting and getting the bulk of the minutes? Any thoughts on our defense anyone?
I think in general people are sleep on olidipo. And yes I think once everyone gets back of they can stay healthy this can be a top 10 defensive team. Vic is one of the best defenders in the league when healthy. I'm personally hoping he plays well and gets an extension here. I really like vic.
That's his demeanor, i think. I've never heard him any different than in this interview. We'll see by his play if he want's to be here or not.
Like I said, the boy is killing it! After last offseason our future looked bleak.....now we have a younger team, assets and flexibility
We can be. Wood has improved immensely since the beginning of the season but still will get steamrolled by bigger centers and tends to lose focus if flustered. That is ok though, he does enough in all other facets of the game to make up for it. The great thing to see though is how many blue jerseys were getting around the ball against the Spurs. Oladipo will only add to that tenacity. To me outside of post defense, the other major concern for the team is rebounding from the three and four spots. Even if Oladipo, Wall, Cousins and Wood pull down 25 to 30 a game we still hurt not controlling, but just balancing out the boards, because of the production in that department from the forward positions. That is something we have to live with, and defense will have to make up for the lack of rebounding from the forward positions. We have been singing that tune for years now though so nothing new. Hopefully this team can gel together through defense, ball movement, crashing the boards from the perimeter, helping each other, and we can make some playoff noise and add to a playoff roster with two first round picks in 2021 (do your best to finish .500 Portland!) and three picks in 2022.
I have convinced myself after reading the Denver Nuggets forum that a MPJ for Oladipo/Tucker deal is going to happen at the deadline.
Feb 2 Trade https://tradenba.com/trades/vzIfX2Xqy CLE: Victor Oladipo, Danuel House, Ben McLemore HOU: Andre Drummond, Kevin Porter Jr. + FRP Wall/Brown/Jones Porter/Nwaba Tate/Tucker Wood/Kurucs/KJ Drummond/Cousins Should solve the drop coverage defense and rebounding issues.
The perimeter defense is the worst of all time. They want a legitimate 3rd guy. The GM won't deal MPJ or the Picks they have and it annoys many of them. MANY wanted Harden in a MPJ deal.
