Yeah, maybe, but if it was it wasn’t working. Pretty bad first half of offense. I’d like to have seen a little more balance, especially under the circumstances.
I think the best we can hope for is hiring a great coaching staff that DW likes, and then pray that Caserio is a wizard at finding talent, and then hope Easterby...something something...in a tragic blimp accident.
I think Eberflus is the guy they want. Familiarity within the AFC South defensively is a huge plus when dealing with the Titans and colts in the future. I hope Mercilus retires and can free up some cap! Please!
Has Mercilus talked about retiring? He is getting paid a ton of money to not really do much. Hard to pass that up.
I agree 100% but I had read somewhere that he is debating it as it was mentioned on a podcast. That would be an absolute god send. I know he opened a few business last year that hopefully he wants to focus on lol
Yeah, nothing definite on that but if the Texans need to financially incentivize him, that's a no-brainer. How do the NFL and contracts work in that regard? Can they agree with a player and give him a quasi-annuity (ala MLB, see Bonilla, etc...) to get his money off the cap now?
No unfortunately that's not an option. If there was no cap, Cal would just light all his money on fire. Good ole boys like Merciless and Martin would be getting Aaron Donald money.
Smoke screen. Frasier, like Saleh, wouldn't be a good "cultural fit" in the Easterby church. He'd be another black guy who wouldn't stay in his "place".
