Keep in mind Tillman said he will 'think about retiring TMac's jersey' and Harden has done way more for Houston than TMac
Let see how the rest of his career ends up. I think if he ends up winning multiple championships and MVP's with Brooklyn or some other team and ends up identifying with them more than the Rockets then no. I think if still identifies with the Rockets including like many other players have comes back and signs for a very short period at the end so he can retire a Rocket then we should.
They should retire it for And Tracy isn’t going to have his number retired. Trevor Ariza Terrence Williams Scott Machado Isaiah Canaan Michael Carter-Williams Iman Shumpert John Wall
i dont know about you guys, but it would be awkward as hell if another player wore #13 for the rockets. I mean technically its possible that Tilman may hold a grudge but it just wouldnt sit right with me. And im sure even a lot of rockets fans who didnt like harden can agree with that
I loved James' time in Houston, but the answer is no. He should be respected for his time in Houston, but he should not have his jersey retired after the way he went out of Houston. That being said, it probably will be retired at some point, but it should not be.
Of course it will. Second best player in franchise history. Even with no championship he has had a historic career.
This dude was robbed of multiple mvps and easily the 2nd best player in franchise history. No brainer. You won’t see that for a long ass time here. Stop with the dramatic kneejerks. It’s going to be retired here at some point period Salty folks in here don’t realize Yao’s jersey was retired and his 7 year career was no where close to harden’s.
I think its little too early... Honestly he deserves it, but time needs to heal wounds. I can see him coming back in 2-3 years. I just think he ruined a lot of stuff that he had going on in Houston. We fans would have accepted him not winning anything here, he would still be a Houston legend. Seriously, even if he stayed, disappeared in playoffs again, that probably would still have been ok with a lot of Rockets fans. After what he did, its just tough. Loyalty only goes so far in life
Retire it, and hang it from the rafters. But the back of it should say, "It's something that I don't think can be fixed."
