BimaThug is spot on. I'm heavily against playing for the lottery here, teach these guys how to win so they can contribute in the future.

Loser teams like NYK have been tanking games for years now and can't escape the cycle because their team culture is fked.

Rockets will only retain that 1st round pick in 2021 if they wind up in the top 4 of the draft (otherwise OKC wins the trade for Harden with a high draft pick courtesy of Houston)

If the team is going to tank, this is the year to do it. But will doing so sour Wall and Wood for the foreseeable future or would they be ready to go next year armed with a high pick and hoping to right the ship?

 

Best route for the Rockets to to mirror OKC last year, not this year. Get to the playoffs and rehab people's value.

 

There’s not much of a rout to a high draft pick outside of tanking this year though.

we’ve seen countless examples of trying to compete to stay relevant/try to sway players to be interested... Most examples don’t end up like it did for us last time! Unless we can somehow package our picks + Dipo (or whatever else) to move up into the top of the draft.

The next couple of drafts are stacked! We need to bite this bullet and go for a top 4 pick! Worst case scenario we miss out and still end up with a late 1st from Miami. Barely making the playoffs does nothing to help this franchise.
