Then get ready for Wall and Boogie to turn toxic. The FO better realize that these 2 guys are trying to rehab more than their bodies but their reps and careers. It's going to get ugly fast if they feel that FO and Silas have quit.
I generally agree, but after tonight we will likely be 3-7. If it gets much worse, might be best to sell on PJ, Oladipo and McLemore and go hard for the top 4 protection.
Boogie is a one year minimum deal. They can just dump him. Wall on the other hand still needs to show the league he can play. He will likely play nice, try to boost his value, and ask for a trade. And even if those things aren't true it doesn't matter. Ugly will only lead to more loses. Which are likely coming anyways because this is a piecemeal team that doesn't fit well together.
I do think Silas will eventually rally his guys, but damn this is pretty tempting. 70 game weird season with a strong draft is the one to tank...
What if? Silas gave this team to Wall (and Boogie) from day one. Those 2 guys will become toxic AF if goal is for them to tank.
Leverage on his contract amount. If he acts as if Houston is a place he wants to resign he can get better terms from the team he really wants to go to.
I really hate this tank mentality. This is a fairly new owner, new GM, new HC, new franchise player. Bad way to start new culture.
i don't think houston has anything to do with what his future is. it's just a mere stop gap for a few months. he's going to go wherever he wants to go in a few months no matter what happens here
A decent chance they don’t play 100 combined games this year anyways. I like Cousins though he is entertaining if anything lol
@treyk3 still no trade. Probably nothing, but wonder if we are trying to expand the deal... If they are but it doesn’t come together, we won’t hear anything about it.
It could be that the Rockets want to make this portion of the trade gets cleared first. Physicals and everything. or it could be that they are working on expanding it. I really don't like the reports about him wanting Miami. I would rather a scrub who wants to be here with a couple picks than a borderline All Star with a foot out of the door.
Finally. Lowe and the guy from 538 were also saying stuff about Tillman. Simmons and Russilo were also saying stuff. I guess it's ok to start talking about Tillman and his cheapness since Harden is officially traded. But these were the same guys who were saying Harden got everything he wanted.
If a dude is the only difference between your team winning and losing the game then you know what I'm ok with that team sucking. That means the team is bad and you should stockpile on assets to improve it instead of having unrealistic expectations. Look at Lakers without Lebron they still have AD, Gasol, Harrell and Schruder. That's a great team with multiple stars or good role players. Dipo is an expiring if he sucks we can offload him for a low FRP or 2nd rounder at the very least. I think he's worth the gamble.
