I think there's a very decent chance Stone is hoping to build up his value to flip before the deadline. But that means we'd win some games in the meantime if nothing else.

 

I'm not sure we have a tank lineup without further weird moves -- if the chemistry works this team could easily sneak into the playoffs.

That's 1 year in College and he will bail. I think that means 2024 (the year we won't have a pick). I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron creates a weird league and has him eligible at 17.

nobody knows how long it'll take but again he isn't close. could be a year. could be more. no doubt lebron will at some point try to find a way to get him in the league but even wade is having trouble bc zaire is also not a nba level talent

type 1 diabetes is very different from type 2, adult-onset diabetes. Not sure if you’re just making a (not funny) joke about players and diabetes but T1Ds are strong and can thrive in professional sports environments, see Jordan Hicks and Mark Andrews to name a few.

 

Tell that to a rookie coach and a roster full of players whose season you're wasting. You're liable to further ruin chemistry on a team that's already had a toxic start to the year. On top of that, again, a top 4 pick is still extremely unlikely. Look, I'm all for tanking at the right time now that Harden is gone. But unless you can find a taker for Wall's massive contract or the guy gets hurt again, you're not tanking this season whether you want to or not.

Who knows, though. Maybe this team will be so bad without James that it won't be a matter of actively trying to lose games or shipping off every halfway decent player. But I just don't see it happening at this point.

 

You don't have to get rid of Wall to tank, you have to re-do the trade to get rid of Oladipo. We can unload. Wall, Tucker, and Gordan, Tate, and Wood is in Minnesota/Detroit territory.

The 2021 draft is going to be excellent. It is strong at the top and very deep. The Rockets likely will have the Heat and Trailblazers picks to use. If they stay in those spots they should look at Ibou Badji. He has the potential to be an absolute monster.

The Rockets IMO should all out tank because they would have close to a 40-45% chance of keeping their pick if they are one of the worst 5 teams.

The 2022 draft is also likely going to be very good, but not as deep, but better at the very top. The Rockets would do very well to be in the top of the lottery is 2022 where there are 5-6 POSSIBLE true franchise players like Chet Holmgren, Adrian Griffin Jr, Jaden Hardy and Yannick Nzosa.

Chet Holmgren is the best prospect in years........ he is still growing and is well over 7'0" with a 7'6" wingspan....... he supposedly has a 38 inch vertical and tests highly on the court end to court end drills..... he is an all world shooter with range similar to James Harden. He can score and pass from the paint, but also can come off picks and beat guys off the dribble. He also is solid guarding the perimeter.

before the season, there were projections on a good number of kids to go in the lottery but so many on that same list have disappointed so far this year. Most are well below expectations and are having disappointing seasons
