Caldwell is better than he's given credit for. His stretch in Detroit is the best any HC has done there since the 70s. He could be a good choice. It might not be, but it could be. It would definitely be an underwhelming pick though.

Apparently this has legs, more so than the EB thing which I think we all know is to just make Deshaun happy

At least we'll be able to interview him after this week.

I say hire Brady and get it over with.

He’s buddies with Caserio, but he’s also been earmarked as a future HC for a couple years. He’s rated slightly lower than Saleh, who will prob be announced as the Jets HC in a few days

    Staley is my #1 choice.

    Hopefully he's their guy.

Really .. huh. Any particular reason or extra information for the support? He came out of left field for me so I'd have to do some digging. I think any coach who is LOADED with defensive talent like the Rams SHOULD look good no?

My choice for head coach: whoever DW3 wants. I am tired of losing superstars. It must stop! Also I am ok trading watt

    Nothing special.

I think the league is obsessed with these young offensive minds and would love the Texans to be the one to go for a young defensive mind. Zig a bit while the league zags. Talented defenses don't always perform at such a high level. The jump from last year to this year is big.

One of McVay's biggest talents is finding talent and Staley seems like his favorite partner so far.

Ramsey and D4 are obviously close. Hopefully Ramsey is telling D4 how great he is. I'm not a football savant but I have a really good feeling about Staley.

Sometimes, you take the most qualified candidate and sometimes you swing for the fences. I feel like Staley could be an all time great.

Yes please! He is also much better at PR.

Can we just make him the owner?

Imagine if the Texans did this type of upheaval to their coaching after getting embarrassed in the playoffs

Im down with a defensive coach. Saleh was is my guy. I think every bit of attention should be paid to defense this year. Deshaun has shown how special he is with marginal talent on the offense, if the defense could even be average next year it may turn out to be a decent season.

Staley seems to have a passion for the game that a lot of these lifers have lost in time as the business side wears on them.

I didn't ever buy into any particular candidate for this job until I started looking into him.

Daboll and Brady were interesting candidates and could be great. I think Staley is a home run errr slam dunk errr TOUCHDOWN .

Then you don't hire him as the head coach unless Watson won't sign off on anyone.

Harden just showed that sometimes it's not worth it to put too much weight into their opinions because they can leave in a moment. The team is bigger than one person especially in the NFL. Watson just had an all time great season but the team was awful. I think he will love Staley and will sign off.

I hope Watson is open to many candidates and not set on a specific guy but you clearly want everyone on the same page.
