Don't forget the brief stint where Trevor Ariza was brought in to be THE franchise player.

For now. McLemoney costs money, so there's always a risk that it won't work out with the Fertitta.

The thing that breaks my heart is I always wanted to see Daryl Morey get the chance to rebuild this team from the ground up. But now that the opportunity has arrived for him to do so he's long gone. F U Tillman.

I'll always root for the Rockets.

My love for this organization has dwindled every year in the Tilman era.

I honestly enjoyed the Kevin Martin years more than I enjoyed last year.

I don't think Tilman is a very good person and I have a lot of philosophical differences. With the world so polarized, it's tough to have such a polarizing figure at the helm of an organization.

I'm just glad I was alive to watch the Rockets win championships. More than a quarter of a century since the last one. Who knows when it will happen again?

Sure , but I’ll never expect a chip while Tilman is in charge .

championship teams generally pay the tax .

Probably not in the Tilman era.

Maybe when he dies his kids won't run the organization into the ground.

I still remember having to BUY the playoff games on PPV. Younger fans these days don't know the pain that some of us went through.

Absolutely the bolded, but with a caveat.

If a team is trying to be good, then that's good entertainment and deserves a fan's time. However, if you're trying to be good, you're probably going to be middling. And if you're middling, you're mediocre at best. And if you're mediocre at best, you're going to be picking in the middle of the first round, which doesn't usually yield you good players.

Since you don't have good players on your team / you have low lotto picks, no FA is going to want to come to your team.

So you either have to be really bad (ie. tank) or really good (land a LeBron or Kawhi in FA). There's little incentive to be middling.

Only way to get better is be bad and to draft young talent. I think a lot of people are nervous about rebuilding through the draft because it's been so long and also takes longer to achieve. But

    This is the way

    The Hakeem Era
    The Francis Era
    The T-mac & Yao Era
    The Harden Era

I think I have made it 4 eras that yeah, I might make it to a fifth.

I fully support the bandwagoners and player only fans bailing, it'll be better without them.

Probably not. Diehard fandom is for young guys in their 20s. Once you get past 30 the demands of daily life make diehard fandom hard to balance with everything else. I'll obviously watch them when I can, but I can't see myself committing much time to 20-to-30-win teams whose potential lies many years in the future. It'll be better to follow in the background with this BBS and let the Rockets be something I can enjoy every now and then, but not an every day obsession.

Truth. No one is ride or die until they have watched Juwan Howard as the Rockets best player for an entire season.

That Houston Rockets Red Blood is earned.

I am SUPER PUMPED AND EXCITED to watch Jae'Sean Tate and Christian Wood develop.

FOR GOD SAKES BRING ME GERALD GREEN!!!
