They could go either or. The age difference between young Levert and old Oladipo is all of 2 yrs might as well be the same age. Both are injury prone Dipo had that horrible injury but Levert had 2 consecutive major injuries last 2 seasons he only played 40ish games. Levert gives you guaranteed value at a reasonable deal but Oladipo gives you more flexibility and higher upside since at his best he is better than Levert. It's a wash IMO.

I dunno about the 2nd round pick some articles say Rox gave up 2nd some articles say they didnt. Personally it doesnt make sense to me since Levert is on a cheaper deal, if anything Pacers should he oaying us a FRP to take Dipo for Levert.

Because the Rockets are either going to trade Oladipo for more picks AND shed salary or let him walk in free agency and save Tillman $20 million. They do not want a long deal.

    @J.R.

While the most likely scenario is just the LeVert + 2RP for Oladipo being the trade, the hold up is very odd. Seems like they are trying to expand it in one way or another. Wouldn't be the first time the Rockets delay a trade to expand it only to fail to do so. We see it almost every time they make a trade, even as recently as the Wood trade. It worked with the Ariza trade though!

We finally create an exception large enough to get a really good role player back (like Aaron Gordon for example, shout out to @D-rock) and have actual assets to attach to it to make it worthwhile for another team, but now we aren't contending and the trade is worthless. Womp womp.

Now articles are surfacing that Dipo dont want to be here...
Brace for LONG DARK WINTER days without Harden.
We will no longer have a guy that can carry a bunch of scrubs to the playoff or someone we can depend on consistently at the end of the game to bring us back & to win the game.
Now we're stuck w/ a pile of major injuries players & injury-prone players..
Cousin & Wall - Major - didn't play enough to be sitting out yet
Wood - already have weak knees
    Gordon - forever weak knees
Dipo - dont wanna be here & quad can pull again.. Westbrook is already sitting out because of his quad injury w/ the wiz
House - this clown is busy promoting his music career & having back problems and act like we forgot what he did in the playoff

The trade is what it is, I mean after what Harden said in his last Houston press conference he needed to be moved. The worst part of the trade is realizing immediately that Houston is no longer a place players want to be. Even prior to Harden, Houston was still perceived as a good franchise and destination for NBA players. The fact that a guy that is trying to prove himself again does not even want to be here is painting a very grim future for the franchise. Oladipo saying he wants to be in Miami vs. Houston already, lol absurd, it seems like he is losing leverage in new contract negotiations by even releasing this info.

We do have the ability to take a salary dump for an asset while remaining over the cap. That has some value if you want to continue winning while gathering assets.

Ahh that would've been nice but you're right Tillman found the opportunity he needed to save more cash. I'm assuming the only reason they didn't trade him to the Sixers for Simmons was bc Tillman didnt want Morey to get him I would've at least liked one star in return but instead we're depending on picks to save us. Really hope we don't have to go through the same thing with Deshaun and he decides to stay.

That trade exemption SHOULD BE UP FOR SALE to a team looking to move salary (FOR MORE PICKS) but Stone had better bring a legal team to explain to Tillman why he would pay for a player they don't really want! LOL!

It would be stupid to tank this season, Rockets will not benefit due the swap with OKC.

Rockets tanking would only ensure a higher pick for OKC.

For the millionth time, not if it is top 4. Then the Oklahoma 2021 pick swap is gone forever. We have to either sit or get rid of Oladipo to be that bad.

    LOL

Rockets are not bad enough to be top 4.

    This is a pipe dream.

What if this is your starting lineup?

    Wall
    Nwaba
    Wood
    Tate
    Brown

re-vamp the trade to get rid of Oladipo to Miami for olynk

Without Oladipo playing at a high level they definitely are. The Rockets are probably better than the Pistons and Wizards but that's the entire list of teams that I think are clearly worse than the Rockets. The Rockets don't have good shooters, a reliable SF, a rookie coach, and have no team chemistry because almost the entire roster has been turned over since last season. If PJ and Oladipo are moved this team is terrible.
