When WW2 started... many people had no idea how important airplanes would be for battlefield dominance. Now the most important element to control from the the Top down... literally... is space. People mocking this idea are no different than the vision-less naysayers from the early 20th century regarding airplanes.

It does seem logical that the 'Space Force' should be located in the Cheyenne Mountain Complex where NORAD is.
They need to reach a compromise and put Space Force in Huntsville, TX with a vacation home in Colorado.

No shock at all. We should have all seen right at the onset that this “branch” of the government was setup as yet another way for the right to shovel trillions at the military industrial complex that funds their campaigns. Going to Huntsville means going to Boeing and Raytheon. I also know for a fact that Huntsville is target #1 by the Chinese government. A family member of mine lives there and is in intelligence and has been freaking out at how many known Chinese intelligence folks there are in Huntsville. If Space Force is really developing our next wave of cutting edge military initiatives telegraphing so much about the program in one relatively easy to target American city is stupid.
Biden's first move as president should be changing the name of Space Force back to US Space Command -- all this other stuff (covid, domestic terrorism, impeachment, racial inequality, etc) can wait.
