Because once they made the decision to trade Harden, they realized they couldn't contend so it was time to cut salary and save money.

Imagine that. A player of Lavert's skill is considered too much money to Fertitta at $18/per. Christ the Rockets are in for a long long drought.

Another win is not having to pay that bum Simmons $177 million dollars to be a glorified role player.

Go have a look at everyone's salaries, they are inflated and yes he is worth a lot of money. Without Embiid, he dominates, but with him he has to share the ball

Ben Simmons ceiling would’ve provided a 7-8th seed and First round fodder. That’s not our plan.

I live on hoopshype bro lol. Yes these guys salaries around the league are very inflated. But that still doesn't mean that you want to get stuck paying a guy like Simmons $30+ million dollars a year bro. Let me ask you this question and be honest. How much of the 76ers have you watched this year and over the years? I watch them quite often. He's a great defender like you said, phenomenal court vision, nice ball handler, gets to the rim easily, but that's the extent of his game. He's a super passive player. Simmons is just a name, he's not a franchise player to me.

Cavs also used their cap space to absorb Prince's bad contract as well. This 10M cap space for two years also worth at least one FRP.

Also Tilman will never allow an increase of 10M in the payroll and potentially much more in the tax bill, so don't even think about it.

Ben Simmons will explode over the next few years. I'm expecting months he had in February last year to become more regular. He has insane athleticism. he could easily run a team and play all 5 positions

Unless he develops a consistent shot outside of 10 ft his ceiling is limited and capped. Did you know guys get less athletic as they age?

Levert is one of the most overrated prospects in the league. Sure, he's photogenic and is fun to watch. But in reality, he has barely even cracked 50 TS% past three seasons despite being in the league for 5 years, and now we don't have to pay him almost 20M per. What are we missing out on exactly?
