I might be wrong but that means if Miami end up with like 26th pick and Brooklyn ends up with 24th, we are able to take the Brooklyn pick.
why? Just keep Lavert. Not sure why Stone is giving away picks to take a worse player. Did they (Pacers) help make the numbers match up?
Hes clearing the cap sheet for this off-season. This is a great deal by Stone. Impressive first year for him.
The draft picks we gave up for WB will be more valuable then the ones we got for Harden. Shoot me dead friends.
So no reason to tank this year? Why did I read some post about these next three years is ideal for tanking?
If you tank this year, make sure to get in the top 4. We can tank for 2022 and 2023 because we have our own picks
I think this is pretty much evidence that Houston valued Oladipo over Lavert, whether as a player or asset to trade.
Clearing the sheet for whom? Tilman or some future star that won’t want to come here? Lavert is still probably a better asset moving forward and these guys need all the picks they can get even 2nd rounders. I don’t know this wrinkle seems weird Lavert is better than Oladipo AND they get a 2nd?
Thanks for putting it together but this isn’t quite 100% right is it? We keep our own 2024 and/or 2026 if it’s top 4 don’t we?
We do, but it kind of mucks up looking at all of your assets when it’s very unlikely those picks don’t convey.
Sure. Just wanted to make sure I did have that right. If you tanked badly enough in 24 or 26 and got lucky you wouldn’t be losing a great pick (1-4) was the only thing I wanted to have clear in my head.
Man I really want to like Stone but that Oladipo/Allen decision hurt so bad. You know I understand what they are doing and how they want to spin it but man... why not try to win still f it. These drafts we have will be low firsts damn near seconds... even if we draft guys whose to say how long it will take for all that to develop. Getting Victor was cheap way to go... I'm rambling and disappointed.
If Lavert was the better asset/player, I don’t see why we traded him then. The “Fertitta is cheap” thing doesn’t really apply when we are talking about using cap space (next offseason) vs paying the luxury tax. The cap space basically has to be used. I think the Rockets thought Oladipo either was the better player or had the potential to get them a better assets in a deal at the deadline or thought having cap space next summer was more valuable than Lavert. This doesn’t seem like a pure salary dump.
