The real problem for the GOP cowards who voted "no" on impeachment is that the big corporations and real leaders of the GOP are now starting to realize that in the last 40 years, from the Reagan onslaught to the present, they have squeezed as much out of the lower 80-90% of America as they can without destabilizing the system which is bad for business. lol I saw that on MSNBC, Morning Joe they had a guy on who has discovered that the Nordic countries are doing well economically with more stability and shockingly it is sort of like FDR, which the Dems are also sort of rediscovering. Next thing MSNBC might have some good words about Bernie Sanders discovering he has been saying something similar. Hurray that Comcast or GE or whoever owns NBC has gotten the word. Cheer up Trumpistas/GOP'ers you will like healthcare, affordable college, a clean environment even if those other people get it, too.

Is Trump the worst president in history of USA? What is his competition? I don't know. But it will have to be someone who commited something akin to treason.
Andrew Johnson and Herbert Hoover are considered the in the 'worst Presidents' column. Andrew Johnson stopped the Reconstruction and basically doomed Black Americans to second class citizenship (1865 -Black Livers Matter in 2020). Hoover was an uncaring non-acting President at the Start of the Depression and actually passed tariffs that made it worse. I think Trump and Johnson are about a tie.
Yeah we will see. But from what you are saying it seems difficult to beat Andrew Johnson. Of course Johnon is judged now after many years. And Trump's effect is far from over. (also if he stopped the Reconstruction why should the black americans being systemically discriminated fall all on his feet? Weren't there so many presidents and governments AFTER him who could , you know fix the situation and change policies? You can't fix a coup.)
If you're a pessimist, then he'll be ranked alongside Hoover and Buchanan (who presided before Lincoln and upgraded the shitstorm to Cat 3). We think this is the end of our descent from Bush, but it's more like a continuation given the disarray of almost everything important in our foundations...
Trump's timing is impeccable. He could have come out way sooner with his stance against mob violence...like before his Jan. 6th rally. But, he waits until he is impeached.
US Representatives are up for election every two years. Generally during non Presidential elections only about half of Americans vote. In many cases people just vote for the incumbent or reflexively for the candidate of the party of the President.
I don't take Trump's statement seriously. His statement was purely CYA (Cover Your Ass) long after the damage has been done and in a lame attempt to prevent him from being impeached or to try to give rhetorical ammo to House Republicans to argue that Trump wasn't inciting.
