Now you are talking. We need to do a trade like this before the deadline. Maybe we can get a solid C or PF on a reasonable contract and a pick or two.
It could be better but the haul they got is among the best in recent years. Hardly incompetent unless you don't understand the value of 3 unprotrected pick, 1 cleveland pick and 4 swaps.
Jarrett Allen would've actually been an interesting young piece and moved Wood to the 4. He's 22 years old and is a plus rebounder and rim protector - both things we need. I don't understand the Cleveland part of the deal. Basically, we traded Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince for Dante Exum and the Bucks first round pick in 22 (which, given the Giannis extension is almost assuredly a late pick). It allowed us to say 4 first round picks and saved ~8 million (plus the future commitment needs for Allen and ~$15M for Prince next year? Unclear where the 2nd rounder is coming from, but it's a total money saving play. Given the pick swap situation, Oladipo on a one year deal is interesting - do you hope he plays well enough to win some games, and then flip at the deadline and tank next year?
He is an expiring if he sucks they let him go. We don't need Jarret Allen lolz Cousins already salty about lack of PT
Yeah .. I don't get why people are so down with this trade. We were never going to get a fair deal trading away a top 3 player in the NBA. But in return we got many shots at drafting the next superstar. Morey ****ed us with the Westbrook trade (say what you want but Morey had some part to do with this trade) and this trade replenished our treasure chest. This was a good deal in my eyes. Time will tell if this becomes a great deal
He's not mobile enough anymore, and is not really a rim protector. And the backup bigs would then consist of people under 6-6 and Bruno Caboclo.
I think that's what we are going to do with Wall and Dipo. Hope they play well and trade them for more picks and then tank.
love that we got oladipo... herro, and robinson dont play defense oladipo plays off-ball and is a 2 way player great trade, only regret is we didnt get jarrett allen
My understanding is it is not a Cleveland pick, it is a Milwaukee 1st round pick in 2022. Crazy how Cleveland got Prince and Allen for a 1st round pick likely to be in the 20's + Dante Exum. What am I missing here? This haul was so close to what I wanted but feel like we should have at least got a Cleveland unprotected 1st even if that meant a swap or giving them the 2022 Nets 1st round pick. Does anyone know much about Kurucs? Did we intentionally target him or was he just a throw in to the trade? Seems promising with his height and ability to shoot from last season's stats and highlights.
