I find it funny that now the party line for the trumpers is unity and coming together........where was that for the last 4 years. They want to coddle this guy after inciting a crazed mob.........hell no, they are still playing to his base. And the whole line about he`s only in for another week so let it go, its whats good for the country.....what's good for the country and any future President`s is being held ACCOUNTABLE whether its day 1 or or your last day. If Obama had done this they would be calling for his head.................LITERALLY

Dude just said we're going to impeach the President in his last 7 days and for what reason? Because he inciteded an insurrection and leads a movement of lies and we have to make sure that he never can be elected again or will face the same issue in four years!
One of the Republican defenses seems to be that the violence started before the mob arrived so Trump didn’t incite a riot. Well that actual seems worse and indicates a coup attempt.
His cult followers don't read press releases, they watch what he says on social media and read what makes it to 4chan or wherever.
If the situations were reversed, then you and I know damn full well the Republicans would be moving to impeach (both times they've done it). And, they would be condemning a Democratic president. So, I don't buy any of the BULLSH_T the Republicans just said at the podium.
I think they all love their country but the process of impeachment lacks the representation of due process and is slow But yes he was largely to blame and a less headline but more effective tactic against Trump would be the censor which is quicker and keeps him from serving again
The Republicans in Congress are not worried about the unity of the country-- they are happy enough to fan the flames against Democrats saying that they are radicals and that if they take power "you will not have a country anymore." They are worried about the unity within their party. The oligarch/Paul Ryan wing of he party cannot win without the Trump/QAnon crazies voting, so they don't want to be forced to take a stand against Trump.
