You would think Nick Carserio would have requested the same, but like others alluded to, keeping Jack Easterby might have been a prerequisite.

Oh yeah, I'd want a defensive guy, but there are 3 or so offensive guys I'd be okay with. Brady is one.

Having a good offensive coordinator on his team is part of coaching.

and what happens with Smith leaves? Gotta find another good one but that's no guarantee. Why is his defense so bad if he's a defensive coach? The same question was asked about why BoB's offense was so bad when he's an offensive coach.

It seems Vrabel to me has been getting carried by his offense the same way BoB was carried by his defense for so long. When Derrick Henry declines I feel like Vrabel is screwed regardless.

Caserio saying that DW4 will be part of the HC search process while already having Brady as the front runner is par for the course, he's gonna fit right in the org.

Brady wants to have a sit down face to face with Watson before accepting position.

Why would you think a General Manager would need to sit down with a player before taking a job?

this stuff is whacked. Has anyone ever heard of a GM meeting with a player first to get his blessing? Or a player helping a team pick the next GM?

This is what I’m not understanding. GM needs to have control, period. We’ve seen how players having too much say/control works.
Keeping Deshaun in the loop is fine, he should be. But his job is QB, not talent evaluation.
I’m not a huge fan of Caserio hire, more because I don’t want Pats staff. But the dude is widely regarded as very good.

Man, he could do a lot with Herbert.
Him and Brady are who I’m hoping for if EB isn’t happening.
And wonder why EB keeps getting bad reviews on his interviews.

I don't want Tim Kelly to be the new head coach. But I am trying to find positives for him. Vrabel became a better coach after he left BOB. Heck, even Tim Kelly became a better play caller after BOB left. Watson like Tim Kelly. He might even be better, and bring in good coordinators around him.

Apparently Saleh didn’t interview well with the Lions either. Interesting development on the two hottest candidates.

Perhaps it is due to the fact that we fired our GM, our cap person, our reputable PR person and allowed a head coach with the IQ of a carrot and an unqualified fake preacher to run the organization into the ground, and who created a toxic and dysfunctional environment. As it stood two weeks ago, we are the laughing stock of the NFL and the poster child for how to destroy a franchise. We make the Jets look functional. That is embarrassing. Due to just how bad it is, I can understand why a franchise QB wants a bit of involvement. This team is light years away on the dysfunction scale in comparison to when we needed to replace Rick Smith or Kubiak. And our owner’s terrible and teleprompter read canned statement was so bad. A good PR person would have advised something so much better...but you know we fired her already.
