Could it be because texans are division rival and the optics would look worse compared to interviewing with other teams? I really hope he still interviews with them once his season is done.
It's concerning on the surface... Occam's razor? He's 24 hours away from coaching a playoff game. Maybe this isn't a "no" as much as it is a "not now?" And I don't think the idea he might be reluctant to coach a team in the Colts' division is without merit - especially if he has other opportunities. He and Reich might be really close? I don't know. I wouldn't just accelerate to THE TEXANS ARE A SHITSHOW!* * Though... they may very well be one....
Nah. This type of stuff doesn't matter when coordinators are making the jump. What has transpired the past 72 hour confirmed a lot of people's thoughts, this is an absolute toxic front office.
Caserio is in Houston he’s in the building I’m sure getting right to work. Once Watson gets back from vacation him and Caserio will sit down and talk football.
I think you're certainly right in theory - there are only 32 openings so you better jump on your chance. I'm wondering, though - does it happen much? Intellectually, I can see it being a barrier if he's close to Ballard and Reich and has other opportunities. Maybe he's doing them a solid? Didn't Belichick ex-communicate Mangini because he went to the Jets?
It’s actually much less than that with just a handful of openings each year and needing to strike when the iron is hot. IIRC, the Belichick/Mangini feud started because Mangini ratted him out for spygate.
Right. Which underscores my point, I think - would you really let unsubstantiated conjecture steer you away from one of those few openings? Maybe it'd convince you to not *take* the job - but turn down the interview to see for yourself?....
im thinking the feeling was mutual, but thanks for making it crystal clear. Reach out to Saleh dummies.
Eric Bienemy has said he has no interest in the job also FWIW (team didnt even reach out to him but still interesting to note)
Makes sense, if you have options, you wouldn't go to the Texans. The lone good thing we have going for us is Deshaun and he's unhappy. Otherwise you get to work for a complete buffoon as a boss and have to sit in meetings with a preacher who knows nothing about football. The only people who would be interested are mediocre people who just want job security because there's a lot of it in Houston.
hold on in the other thread Bienemy said he was out? LOL edit: OMG that number on McDaniels may be too good not to throw a few pennies at.
