We have traversed down from the victorious overtaking of the Capitol at the battle of little DC to Georgia to outflank the enemy. The men are in good spirits but the casualties we suffered at the battle of D.C. is still in our hearts. Some secretly worry if squirrel oil and rations will last but, I believe the elements will also be on our side as we trek South ...Biting wind and snow implies a war of attrition, and we are much better suited to win such a fight. My optimism is boundless. Please give my best to the children. Comfort mother and let her know that I am well and not be fooled by the news of gloom.
