The home invader has presented a situation in which my right to life is at risk and therefore if I’m afraid for my life then I have the responsibility to take actions ...just like law enforcement has to take actions and what actions they take while on the job differs from a home invasion

They are to defend the property and defend the the senators inside. Ashli Babbitt has presented a situation in which their right to life was at risk.

The door was even barricaded and blocked, with broken glass and she and others were still trying to invade and cause harm.

 

Right so why wasn’t less than lethal an option then?

 

the same way you wouldn't use a less than lethal option if someone invaded your home.

 

Law enforcement cannot just shoot people without alternative means of preserving life. Recall when the knife wielding black person came at police, they shot him but I would say if the police had less than lethal options that should be used as well

 

What is the Capitol?

I thought it was the temple and heart of american democracy. A symbol of the Republic.

But if americans really believe it is just another building then I don't have anything to say.

Maybe you can also redecorate it and put it on the market. It has some security problems but it should fetch a good price.

Yes they showed restraint and didn’t get machine guns and start mowing everything down I agree but I regardless feel less than lethal use first at that time then shoot the bullets if that didn’t work

 

And their requirement is to use deadly force to secure their well being and the well being of the senators getting overran by hostiles.

I don’t give a **** what their misinformed perspectives are. Facts are facts. People shouldn’t be let off the hook because they’re gullible idiots. Anyone who breached the barricades should face charges anyone who breached the Capitol building are domestic terrorists and should be treated as such.

I see where you're coming from and I think there just needs to be me definitions and clearly used terms. The citizens who make up the Capitol Police are basically the smallest federal police force in the US. They were patrolling the protest and also guarding the Capitol. These ground forces were overwhelmed. That's a fact. Did some individuals act with more leniency? Sure. But overall, they were overwhelmed.

Now if you are talking about the bosses, the planning, multiple other agencies under control of the presidency, okay then. Incompetence or intentional or deference or lack of planning... all that is valid criticism.

But blaming the ground cops who were there fighting for their lives? F those talking heads on TV. Get your definitions cleared. I saw many cops getting overwhelmed. Those guys were not complicit at all.
