    Even half breeds i'm told, but Japan like all other wonderful countries are high on tourism spots, just not for me to live in. There's ingrained racism in any country really. All countries have a xenophobia to an extent.

    They are going through an absolutely insane housing crisis right now. Average house price increased by over 20% over the last year. The whole country's real estate market is pretty much Austin.

    NZ and Australia's housing issues are actually worse than Austin and the housing price issue is hitting almost every country (frankly the US looks pretty good in comparison to most countries). A combination of population growth, limited housing supply and sustained periods of low interest rates have really caused housing prices to go crazy. Covid only accelerated the problem as Covid created more shortages as home ownership is more attractive given the rise of remote working.

    I'm actually moving to Toronto in a few months which is similarly horrible in terms of prices so I'll probably steer clear of even attempting to buy a house until things slow down. People are just FOMO buying at this point and creating outrageous bidding wars.

    That's Jen from The IT Crowd. If you've never had the the opportunity to laugh your ass off, I highly recommend taking a look at this most excellent British comedy about a fictional IT Dept at a dysfunctional company. It's streaming on Netflix.
