I agree with you there will be more. As long as people have devolved critical reasoning and independent thought to a false narrative that an embittered defeated President is peddling.

Trump and many of those speaking for him have shown they are willing to harm the Republican Party, the Congress and even their own supporters for just to satisfy their own grievance.

Trump and Don Jr. talk about fighting and taking in traitors. Rudy Giuliani talks about trial by combat. These people know nothing about actual fighting or combat and when given the chance to actually do so ducked out. Instead they are now than willing to see encourage those who follow them to do so.

So yes as long as people continue to listen to the divisive rhetoric coming from Trump without questioning why Trump keeps on losing in the polls, courts and halls of Congress there will be more violence because they are blinding themselves to other ways.

After a whole day where I literally teared up at what happened to my country today, I can feel some solace in the fact that Congress (assholes and all) are giving the double rods to the angry mob, and staying in session to count the votes. It is the only saving grace of one of the shittiest days in the US in my lifetime.

Maybe I'm being melodramatic, but this feels like a similar day to when the Challenger exploded and 9/11 in my lifetime.

I'm just glad of a couple things: 1. It looks like only 1 person lost their life and 2. Other than some doors and some desks, it appears there was no widespread damage or burning or whatever to the art/building/institution itself. Hollow victories to be sure.
