Biggest minus for Popeyes is that the service can be hit or miss. Not all experiences are bad, but enough in some locations for it to be a problem.

I can beat that with my General Tso Chicken Sandwich!

I do make a good homemade fried chicken sandwich where I marinate chicken breast in buttermilk and spices. Then, I bread in my flour/spice mixture. I add some of the buttermilk to the flour/spice to make little bits that I pat into the chicken to give it that texture. I fry in peanut oil. It turns out really well.

Would love to, and I don't doubt that your wife is far beyond "darn hospitable," but I've been "incognito" here all these years. I'm sort of stuck on remaining so. If I should ever loosen my grip on remaining anonymous I will send you a PM. I don't doubt that I would enjoy it a great deal.

You need to learn the secret handshake. (houston is the only place where I've been to a Popeyes and the service was off so I buy what you're saying to a degree. But just find a better location! It's too good to eliminate from your life!)

Awesome. I love the sweet and hot.

When you fry, do you deep fry or pan fry?

This sandwich is great, the kimchi slaw on it in particular.

If anyone gets the "bites" version instead of sandwich, be sure to request the sauce that comes on the sandwich. They have a different sauce for the korean fries and bites than the sandwich.

Popeye's does it for me over Chick-Fil-A. I also like Church's new chicken sandwich.

    How do you deep fry?

I have a small one but it's more trouble than it's worth, the cleanup is a bit much.

^hold the mayo or at least get it on the side, especially if you're a CFA guy.

Guess no one else ran out to try shake shacks korean. Love sandwiches where the slaw takes care of the sweet and sour usually from sauces, pickles etc. On that front raising canes is sitting on a potentially great sandwich, if they would use their house made coleslaw instead.

I've had that Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich about 8 times now.

The crispiness. The bun. The pickles. The spicy sauce.

It's perfect (for a chicken sandwich that is less than $5)

If you don’t eat it right away tell them you want everything on the side including the bun and put it together yourself when you get home. Keeps the chicken perfectly crisp until you’re ready plus they always give you more than enough spicy Mayo to use on a couple more sandwiches at the house.
