God, how I hope you're right, but don't get cocky. It's not over yet. Fingers crossed.

    From NYT:
Perdue campaign claims in new statement that they believe they won and will use “every available resource and exhaust every recourse to ensure all legally cast ballots are properly counted” — echoing Trump.

My god, snowflake. First of all, maybe wait for them to finish counting all the votes before whining?

Ossoff has picked up about 10 thousand votes from where the count was when I checked 5 or 10 minutes ago. Interesting that about 12,000 more voters went for Warnock than went for Ossoff on those ballots. Some people can't see their nose to spite their face.

That's basically my point. Democratic leadership are far more willing to act when there's no threat of it actually becoming law. It's legislative theater.

"She was considered extremely progressive" by pubbie dumb dumbs who think anyone to the left of ghengis khan is a communist.

I'll eat my goddamed shoe if she lets anything like M4A, Green New Deal, or UBI get a vote on the house floor with an entirely Democratic government. How they respond to the pandemic/depression will tell us a lot about how much they actually plan to govern now versus sit on their power.

Oh, they will have it, because there's no alternative.

Until we get ranked choice voting neither party will be motivated to act or compromise on behalf of their constituents... Because "what are you gonna do? Vote for the other guys?"

I take nothing away from Abrams. My point was that the win in November appears to have actually caused momentum that is showing up in January, which is unexpected. The expectation was very much that the Dem turnout would fall off, and it seems it didn't. It's like November (which was all Abrams) gave a lot of lean D voters a shot in the arm and a feeling that their votes matter. A real breakthrough.

Cautiously optimistic as well. Winning both seats if it holds up to be the case, would be huge for Biden.

The Democrats will now punish the poor rural blue collar GOP voting base out of spite with expanded access to healthcare.
