Hair falling out would not be a problem for one of the candidates.

I'm not saying I'm trusting anything, just saying there wouldn't be many excuses for him to not do a whole lot of good. Let's see what happens.

Honestly, the Democrats winning the Senate might actually be bad news for some cozy establishment Democrat senators. Because they literally have no excuse now to not sponsor and pass genuine proggressive bills. There is no obstacle besides themselves for not getting a public option passed now in the next two years.

Turtle's game plan is always on the long term. 2 years of "enemy ownership" paled in comparison to taking it over for 5.

He wants Dems to "own the debt" despite Trump running it up to Obama levels in half the time.

This and his do-nothing obstruction will be his upcoming strategy.

...Which is why steamrolling as much as you can in two years might not be that bad an idea.

Naw man. That is taking away from what Abrams has done. Biden had no offices in Georgia; he didn't campaign down there because Georgia has been red forever. It was Abrams who supercharged Georgia to go blue then went to work on the senate. They even said it was a long shot after Biden won. This is Abrams win.

There is nothing sudden about this. Abrams scratched and clawed to turn Georgia blue ever since she was cheated when she was running. this is all Abrams.

    Joe Manchin says no.

Great news today but man is there going to be some poo flinging between the proggressive wing and the establishment wing of the party because of this. The GOP having the Senate means the moderate Dems have an excuse to be stagnant. Now they don't.

Dems need to organize in South Texas the way Dems in Georgia organize in Southwest Georgia. Both are rural areas that hold constituencies that should be large Democratic constituencies. While Southwest Georgia is African American (in comparison to South Texas being Hispanic), Southwest Georgia turns out at higher rates than other rural African American regions in the Deep South.

Similarly the RGV not only has horrible turnout but the vote margin tends to swing wildly. The downballot races are all largely uncontested (which has bred a lot of complacency among Democrats there) but towards the top of the ballot you see much less loyalty to the Democratic Party. Democrats need to not only get turnout up in the RGV but they need to make the region into a key part of the base instead of serving as an afterthought.

Improving in the suburbs is required but the RGV needs to be a source of strength instead of a weakness. And until this is fixed, Dems will continue to be disappointed in Texas.

It all assumes the dollar will remain as the reserve currency for decades to come.

Having a 1:1 debt:GDP ratio isn't peachy for those buying the debt. Esp w/ near-to-ZIRP and a growing Chinese economy.

At this point, going into uncharted waters is preferable to historical indicators...

Manchin is probably going to screw any type of Senate majority the Dems get

Sure but borrowing costs are currently low as ****, basically free. Borrow money and get stuff until you get to that point.

Are Texas party leaders mostly white?

Can't help but think it's "flyover country" arrogance.

The WV and Arizona Senators still have to mind their votes.
