this is where we needed westbrook. his energy and hustle would've been contagious and willed us to a win.

That's the problem. Wall isn't that good of a shooter. Yeah, he's better than Westbrook.... but he's never going to be an elite shooter.

I think Harden would rather let someone take over and take more spot-up shots. Harden actually hits over 40% of his spot-up 3pt shots. I honestly feel when things are not working for us that Harden probably feels he needs to take over and force shots or whatever. We've seen it time and time again.

What do you mean by that, Harden played almost the entire 3rd quarter, obviously he was part of the comeback. But he was also on the court when Dallas blew the lead from 11 to 18 at the start. So it evened out his +-.

People hate on House, but he can shoot, and defend, and he also has that randomness Silas is always talking about.

    The BIGGEST Problems were
    1. Lack of Defense
    2. No Rebounding
    3. **** 3 pt shooting

Could have survived with 2 out of three

They are playing off of Wall at the 3 point line just like Westbrook. He is going to have to practice and shoot that three.

He's not the only one out there playing subpar on defense. I think the team as a whole has defensive lapses out there. I don't know if the inconsistent players being available this year so far has contributed to lack on cohesiveness on that end of the floor or what.

Harden if he wants other players to handle the ball is going to have to learn how to move off ball and be in the play when he doesn't have the ball. Or else he isn't going to have that many spot up looks. He's just going to stand around near the halfcourt line.

The Rockets play 5 out offense all f'ing game.

    It is Silas preferred system.

You are mixing 5 out offense with switch everything defense.

Rockets only play switch everything when they play their small ball line up. Otherwise their base D is drop coverage which blows chunks and allowed Mavs (and other teams) to destroy the Rockets due to all the space given up.

Wall has indeed played switch everything D.

maybe learning a new offense AND a new defense is just too much on the fly.

    Zion !
Not saying it will be championship aspirations anytime soon but I think this was a bad game by Harden and this team hasn’t had time together to play better.

Their defense is the first, middle and last issue.

I don’t know if Harden will ever understand getting ball to a hot player outside of Gordon... Tate had layup, 3pt play and 3pointer and never got ball again

Christian Wood and Tuck weren't going to hold down Mavs' bigs. Boogie was really effective, but got thrown out early in the game.

I would've liked to see Tate get 5 more mins out on the court. Brown could've shot more, he's afraid to shoot for some reason.

Also, Harden really did try to play like a good teammate. He's listening and trying to buy in on the game plan, like passing out of a double when he sees one coming, or setting Wood up for a dunk. But those plays are proving to be turnover-prone, and does not bode well transitioning back onto defense if the play ever dies.

Offensive coaching here needs to be mindful of spacing and the swarming double-teaming defense that spazzes out like this. It would've been fantastic to see Harden draw like 20 FTAs against this type of night, but I'm quite sure the coaching wasn't having that.

House looks fine when he's in his role. When we had all those guys out and we asked him to do a lot more he looked terrible...but so did most of those guys. The past 2 games he looked fine in his role.

Issue is the other guys are pretty one dimensional outside of Tate.

Nwaba can defend...can't shoot...has a one track mind when he drives.
Brown can shoot but that's about it, so-so defender sometimes.
Mclemore...can spot up shoot, that's about it.

House can defend averagely, put the ball on the floor sometimes and be a finisher, and can shoot.

I dont get the House hate honestly. He is literally the only guy we have that can defend at an adequate level, shoot high volume 3 at an acceptable rate, and athletic enough to finish in transition. He's average in every way but we dont have another guy who is even average in all 3 of those areas.

    Nwaba: Cant shoot
    Tate: Cant shoot
    Tucker: Cant run or finish
    Mclemore: Cant defend

If Harden was bad then Wall was worse.

And Harden is playing on high ankle sprain.
