Hakeem placed tops in 10 categories pre-analytics. I don’t see woods aggression on defense. He’s not the same kind of center... more like a millennial floor-spacing center. Hakeem was so unstoppable inside he could suck the Dfense in and create that inside-outside game. I mean, if we didn’t have Harden, we could make him a post/iso player and spread it out. Wall needs a floater added to his game for that Wall/Wood/Cousins pnr. I’m scared of him getting used to pulling up that close to the 3pt line. Just got used to Htine game I guess.

I know you used "potential" as the operative word here. But still that's a no.

Don't get me wrong, this guy looks phenomenal. But I can't imagine him turning into any version that can do what Dream did. Part of it is the rules of the game today just do not accommodate a PF-C like the 90s did. The other part is the player's abilities alone.

To be today's version of Dream, you probably need handles, be efficient at the 3 pt line, and be athletic and strong enough to defend every position. Not to mention average ungodly amounts of steals, blocks, and rebounds per game.

There's not enough calories you can consume to accomplish that. Those days are gone.

Wood is not even top 5 Rockets best center, much less Hakeem. I know we have seen small ball for a while but come on.

Check back in with me when he does this:

Hakeem is one of only four players to ever record a quadruple-double and he actually had another quadruple-double in the same month. In March of 1990, the league accused the Rockets of stat padding and took away an assist, leaving him with ONLY 29 points, 18 rebounds, 11 blocks and 9 assists in a game. Later that month, he gave the league a middle finger by putting up 18 points, 16 rebounds, 11 blocks and 10 assists against the Bucks.

Yeah I don't care how old you are.... this is a smooth brained take... You don't understand how to process what you're seeing if you see anything from Wood that is Dream potential.
