Woj: Rockets want to trade Harden "sooner rather than later"

nonetheless I think harden is slooowllly coming to the realization that his best bet is to play the year out - he’s not going to Brooklyn, bucks don’t want him, won’t win in Philly, Denver/Miami package not good enough, and Boston well we know Ainge won’t send us what we’d demand.

....james won’t sign an extension here unless we make a “deep” run l - like finals run.

not to pick on you, but I HATE the “make it to the finals” framing. That’s part of why he wants to leave ... because he’s “never even made it to the finals”. So he wants to go East so he can lose to the Lakers one round later and help his legacy with people who make that silly criticism.

If you lose to the champions, the round doesn’t matter. And if it’s because the champions are in your conference, it’s completely out of your control.

And, this year, “making it to the finals” is almost certainly the same as “winning the championship.”

OK, end of rant. Not personal - I just am so tired of a poor framing leading to real consequences like a star asking to be traded to a different conference.

At least this will give them time to get to know each other. They've spent very little time practicing. This is why I'm holding out hope that the defense improves.

 

Well great! It seems like we figured out not only how to keep disgruntled stars but to get them to perform.

Who would have thought the Tilman Rocket's would be the ones to figure it out!
