james harden is about as skilled and talented as they come and his came will age gracefull because it’s not totally dependent on athleticism but 31 for harden is not his prime. He’s incredibly gifted wouldn’t say his body is built different imo
James Harden has improved his game every season since he joined Houston. He is better now than he was 2 years ago.
that’s really awesome. He’s 31 not in his prime. That’s like saying the Celtics got kg in his prime when they traded for him at nearly 32
Prime usually means the highest point in their career. Most players reach their prime around hardens age. Dreams prime for example was prob 32-34. Not sure how you are defining prime.
What I am saying, is not everyone's prime is your fixed number. Some players are "outliers." Hakeem Olajuwon won his title at 31 and he was in his prime. Harden is an outlier.
Hang on... KG led the league in rebounding the year before Boston traded for him... hardly "past it". He was also an all star 5 of 6 seasons at Boston, where he came at age 31. And, while his stats took a dip, it is very arguable his peak defensive years were in green, and his stats naturally dipped by default of playing with other stars. I think Brooklyn might feel like he was (well) past his prime when they trade for him... It wouldn't be surprising to see Harden not score 30ppg if a Celt, but yet have championship years while still bring an all star and being in his prime...
With the way Brown is playing he might be off the table. This is why I wanted the trade done before the season started smh.
Career high = Ainge not pulling the trigger. He'll delude himself into thinking the Cs can win it all with what they have. To be fair, they should probably be swinging for KAT over Harden if swapping one Brown/ Tatum. Solid bigness may be the Achilles heel for them.
I dunno seems like Ainge is a guy like me, valuing asset collection over immediate contention. Maybe he knows they cant compete but thats ok cuz Tatum and Green are like 24. KaT? Minny wont part with KaT they just took Edwards why will they change KaT for Green? You know a trade I'd def do though? Wiseman+Klay for Harden. You tank for a year then next year you are all set for the next decade with a pick from the deep 2021 draft, Wood and Wiseman who is looking like KaT but with defense.
I watch every 76ers game and it’s concerning to think Simmons could be coming to our team. His lack of shooting ability is a huge reason that team will never be a serious threat or any team he goes to.
JB moves so well without the ball. He doesnt need to control the pace and just finds pockets. He is super athletic and can finish in traffic. Wet jumper that can get hot like last night. Where I like him over a guy like MPJ is in his defense. JB is 6'7 with the same wingspan as Porter Jr! Quicker, more explosive and an actual asset on defense. Not a diva and most importantly A HEALTHY BACK!
No he was nowhere near prime kg in Boston. At all. He was very good there, of course but no he wasn’t prime kg lol.
Disagree. Garnett's usage may have gone down because he was teamed with Ray Allen and Pierce, but he was clearly still in his prime.
What do you think board? https://tradenba.com/trades/TsmmanRfH Trade gives the Rockets a young core to build around (Wood, Brown, Gordon, Anthony and 3 FRPs in 2021). Hopefully Wall re-establishes himself and can be traded along with incoming picks from Det and Wash for another foundational piece in a year or so too (or EGo can be traded to relieve a team of a poor fit with his non guaranteed contract). The Celtics would be set up to win for the next few years. Walker-Harden-Tatum-Tucker-Vucevic would be a hard team to beat in 7 games for anyone. The Magic get out from under Vucevic's contract and open up time for Bamba. They also solve the redundency of Gordon-Isaac and balance their roster a little bit with Marcus Smart. For their troubles they get a couple of picks (though they are unlikely to be worth all that much TBH). Who says no?
