We should try to acquire John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Ben McLemore, Eric Gordon and Mason Jones and see how they look first
Bro, all we need is to get the other half of our team out of covid. This looks like preseason. If we get to the playoffs with the team in tact, we have a really good shot at the Lakers with this group... plus maybe 1 more 3 point specialist. I can see two teams here... Wall and Boogie and you got Harden and Wood combo. I can see a combo of these guys off the bench... which will preserve them for the entire season and load off Harden. We can be all healthy for playoffs.
i believe he will be the starting four when boogie comes back. Watch how good they oook together. If boogie could only stay healthy.
We need rebounding in the worst of ways. We have the ability to stay in front of people but when they get two or more shots to our one, bad things happen. IMO, we need a rebounding glue guy. Someone that can stop the bleeding with board then make a smart play after so we will play as team on both ends. What I see happening is opponents grabbing rebounds and resetting their offense and just waring us out. We are doing a lot of great things but not finishing the defensive position and starting over and over till the opposition scores is counterproductive. I have heard that rebounding is a pride thing because it’s want more than skill. I have also heard it’s a conditioning thing because tired legs don’t rebound well. I have heard that rebounding is a state of mind because boxing out and angles are simple concepts that work only when they’re done everytime all the time. Other things to consider—> we play with 5 out meaning everyone is physically out of position for an offense board and need to get back on defense. The last team we played had their center running the offense in the high post making it hard to pull down easy boards on defense. Plus we had short rotation, early in the season with a shortened pre season so our conditioning was off, in addition to the altitude. We will know more tonight.
After watching Wood for a few games, I’ve changed my mind on him and consider him more of a forward than a center, based on his outside shooting, ball handling, and decent defense away from the basket. Starting Cousins next to him is making more sense to me than I initially thought it might. Bringing in another big body seems like a good idea.
