Win-Win trade ORL: Victor Oladipo IND: Buddy Hield SAC: Eric Gordon, Danuel House + Clemons + TPE + Magic FRP + Rockets FRP HOU: Aaron Gordon *Rockets save $ *Rockets open roster spot - sign GG, Broekhoff or Justin Anderson *Rockets improve starting 5, small ball 5, iso defense, tertiary playmaker Wall/Brown Harden/McLemore Tucker/Nwaba/GG* AG/Tate Wood/Cousins/Bruno
I’m basically fine with either Aaron Gordon or Jerami Grant. Both do basically the same things. Grant is the better shooter. Gordon the better playmaker. Both good defenders. Both represent an improvement in youth and talent.
House I think. There’s still a lot of time, and we’ve only seen one game so far. House will look better (I hope) when he goes back to be a 3rd level playmaker when Wall and Gordon get back, but I value McLemores shooting on this team. He’s really the only lights out shooter we have.
I think we have a better option with Gerald Green than both House or Mac... I cant remember the last time I felt good about House other than the first season he was here and then got cut due to some contract issue. Once back it was never the same.
Rockets MUST trade for longer defensive iso specialists/starters. It is the Rockets most glaring most critical issue. Trade for Aaron Gordon!

Do the Kings have a lot of empty roster spots? Lots of moving parts getting 4 teams to agree is next to impossible. ——————— Quickly move PJ to the 76 if this deal is there. Then sign Amile Jefferson with the new found cap space. rotation looks somewhat fluid: Wall takes his time at the point, Harden on the court when Wall is not. Always more than capable hands at the point. Harden spilts his time between both back court spots, Gordon logs all is time at 2 getting starters minutes. Korkmaz is here as backup Brown, Nwaba & Thybulle take over at small forward. —> Benny Mc Tate, Wood sees time here too with Jefferson as 3rd man at the big forward—> House Wood starts, Cousins plays and Amile Jefferson does the dirty work as a backup center.
You are missing the most critical point of proposed trade. Amile Jefferson will not fix the defensive problems as he would be a rotation player, at best. Rockets need upgrades to the starting 5. Specifically longer 3 or 4 to help Wood. And Amile Jefferson does not solve 3rd playmaker or small ball 5 issues either. Besides, Jefferson was signed by Celtics for their G League team.
So the benefit of trading for Larry Nance Jr. over Jerami Grant and Aaron Gordon is that you get to keep Eric Gordon, who has a bigger role than either House or Tucker. Minnesota In: Tucker Houston In: Nance Cleveland In: House, Prospect or Pick from Minny Then try to get Otto Porter Jr. after a buyout from Chicago. Wall / Gordon Harden / McLemore or Brown Porter / Nwaba Nance / Tate Wood / Cousins
Different point of view, after the rebound the defense is now an offense. Silas said Wood is our center. (He looks and plays like 3 or 4 to me, but Silas is the coach) As for the ball handling. Harden and Wall will take good care of it. Cousins can pass the ball, too. The more we see Tate the more skills he will show, IMO. Remember, Jefferson was a multiple year captain at Duke so he has a well rounded skill set, too. I wanted trade to draft Aaron Gordon. I am well aware of him. Yes, the Magic have missed used for years (sadly / luckily). They have his contract and up until last year he was untouchable (as he should be). I believe Aaron Gordon still has the potential to be an all NBA player. We don’t have the assets to afford him. If Wood or Eric Gordon goes off the charts maybe with multiple FRP. The Magic know what they have but like you said don’t know how to benefit from him. Fingers crossed maybe at the trade deadline.
lol. Yeah...I was definitely part of the Otto Porter fan club. Maybe with Wall here, plus the ability to offer him our starting spot in a contract year, we can get him. Chicago looks like they are gunning for the #1 pick. Otto Porter off the bench??? lol. I get he’s not playing great, but still. I think he is absolutely our best potential quick fix. Insert him and you may not have to make another move. If I were Porter, I’d be willing to give up a good chunk of change in a buyout to come to Houston to rehab my value. Lots of teams have money to spend next year. If he comes to Houston and plays well, entirely possible he gets 4 years $80 million. Wall / Gordon Harden / McLemore or Brown Porter / House PJ / Tate or Nwaba Wood / Cousins
Cousins will be a good matchup for big centers that have gave up problems the last couple of days like Jokic/Nurkic/Kanter. But relying on Cousins to stay healthy is a bad move, and there will be players who are too quick for Cousins, too strong for Wood, too long for PJ. We need another big man, Cabloco was supposed to fill some of that roll, he’s clearly not up for it, and is too thin himself. Funny enough a guy like Hartenstein would have been nice. Wall / Harden / Gordon / Mac Tucker / House / Nwaba Wood / Tate / Cousins We need a starting C, and a quality backup PG. Going to be tough to get with limited tradeable salaries, hard cap, etc
Hartenstein can barely make 8 minutes in a game before fouling out. He is ok in in spurts every now and then, but quickly reverts back to what he is.
