Wall has been at the top of the league in assist every year also and its not like Hardens system is the only one that works. Silas literally just led the #1 offense in history without Harden. MDA has had legendary offenses before Harden. Other things can be done and James can dominate either way

The best player doesnt always have to get the ball, thats because teams dont play in a vacuum they play vs opponents who will counter what you do.

Sure Harden is vastly superior to Wall, however Wall getting touches is necessary so the offense will be more varied and unpredictable. Its a bad habit from Dumbtoni days, when the offense slows down you know Harden is gonna step back 3. Harden knows it, his team knows it and more importantly the enemy knows it. If the enemy knows it then its just a matter of time till they counter it and then you got nothing.

It's the reason why Dumbtoni teams win in regular season but flame out in the playoffs, they run 1 play over and over again to perfection. In the regular season other teams dont have time to crack your play they are dealing with their own issues. But in the playoffs they can spend time to watch film and figure out how to stop that magic play and Dumbtoni teams dont know how to do anything else. Cp3 was angry at Harden but really he should be angry at Dumbtoni for not making the offense more varied. IIRC according to an article Dumbtoni has a total of 3 freaking plays for his team...bruh thats just 1 more than our corporate bball team and we a bunch of out of shape dadbods. No wonder players loved him so much its practically AAU style every game.

I dont follow football but Mahomes has lots of times where he runs the ball or gives it to running back even if he has the best arm in the league. It's the same concept.

    Common sense.

    Please get some.

Harden is one of the most efficient players in NBA.

    Wall, not so much.

Harden has led NBA in assists.

    Wall has not.

Harden has led NBA in scoring 3 consecutive seasons as ball dominant player.

    Wall has not.

Silas coached #1 most efficient offense.

This offense was run by Luka Doncic who was more ball dominant and averaged higher usage rate than James Harden.

    Lightbulb turn on yet?

This wasn't really true in Phoenix, nor internationally. This is a narrative people have woven to deflect blame from Harden and Morey to Dantoni. The Chris Paul anecdote you ironically brought up is proof. Paul was right. Mixing your moves can make your best one more effective. Theres a reason boxers dont just come out and just throw haymakers for round after round.

Harden is NOT the best passer, his Assist to turnover is under 2 to 1, that is great for a SG, but less than average for a good PG.

He is a good passer, but not a great one, CP3 is a great passer...

You play with what you have. You think that Dallas wouldn't let Wall do anything if he were on the team... Lol

No one is telling Harden to share with House. Obviously with this current group, you have to play with what you have. If you have others who can do things, then you adjust. Common sense

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/03/sports/rockets-coaches-nba-playoffs.html

Found it. I was wrong it wasnt 3 plays, it was 6. Dumbtoni has 7 assistants, I guess 1 for each set and then an extra if he forgets 1 lolz.

Another thing I didnt like was handing an ipad to Harden when he sits and asking him to coach when he should be resting. In football it works cuz each possession can take a long time, but in bball 5 min break is a long break. The coaches should already analyze everything and tell him in 15 secs so he spends the rest of his time resting.

Do you see CP3 anywhere on this Rockets roster?

Dude their is nothing in that article that says D'Antoni only has 6 offensive plays.

    Nothing.

Hell, he even cuts his ATO's to top 15 each game.

lol...no, he is a great passer

    bad use of stats

around 50% of Harden’s turnovers are from getting stripped, losing the ball, or committing offensive fouls driving in the lane

Harden is 1 of the best passers in the NBA, and that’s obvious to everyone

His ATOS are all plays based on 6 sets. Meaning he has 6 basic plays and then you have variations but they are still the same 6 sets.

Harden is 1 of the best lob passers in the league...he’s 1 of the best PnR/pocket passers in the league as well...cross court, between the legs, behind the back...there isn’t a pass he can’t do

Some posters really make me question them. Like, wth are u watching?

ATO's are simply a PART of an offense.

ATO means After Time Out play.

Per the article, D'Antoni has a HUNDRED of these ATO plays which are based on 6 sets.

This is hardly unusual for any NBA offense.

So you saying D'Antoni ENTIRE offense only has 6 plays is a huge misrepresentation.

    You got it wrong bud.

Those dunks off the dribble were something else. Is it possible to have a quiet 31 points?

In some fantasy realm the team invested in their RGV talent and ended up with Harden, Gordon, Covington, Wood, Capela lineup.

He’s a top five offensive player of all time by any metric. He’s black Jesus on that side of the ball, any other take is basketball blasphemy.

Here we go again. Another poster throwing out a stat line and missing the bigger point. 44 and 17, looks good, sounds good, but it resulted in a Loss, boss.
The best success is team success, not Harden iso ball (which he constantly reverts back to) or harden running the point.

You have a true point guard in Wall that can run point, get to the cup when he wants, and not only makes the game easier for Harden BUT can be a playmaker for harden (like CP did two years ago). You folks will live and die on this Harden stat sheet sword, I swear.

....the way harden “gets his” is not championship basketball - we should know this by now (we are 8 years in this thing). Best chance harden had at winning the chip was when? When he had a true point guard to ease the load and let him play off ball.

When, not even when, IF 13 realizes that playing this way and running an offense, which Silas is trying to do, then we might, just might, gave shot at a damn chip.

So back to my original post....wall has only played the 1 his entire career- I’m hoping harden embraces playing off the ball, running an offense and getting buckets as the best SG in the game. I’m hoping the two can coexist.

....”should seem like common sense right?”
