Morey quit because he had a stupid boss who was forcing him to make bad decisions and forcing to groom his son as his replacement. Morey stood up for himself and said F that and left. Then idiots like yourself come on here and spew garbage.
Let me let your little brain in on a secret. Every owner is going to be part of making major franchise altering decisions. Was the same under Les and will be the same in PHI. If Morey doesn't like that, he can get off his fat ass can make $2b on his own so he can call the shots, or find a different profession.
lol I don't deal in "probably" What a joke. Morey is having a hard enough time where he is. No one wanted to play for Morey. It's not a money issue. You have to convince people to accept your money. Hard to do when majority of league's players doesn't like fat Elvis. Journalist and some Owners do but not many players. IF CW wanted to follow fat Elvis, he knows how to clear space just like Stone did. He was a free agent. It's not like Morey wasn't actively sabotaging Rockets on his way out anyway. Morey lost his mojo or got comfortable after acquiring CP3, face it.
Houston didn't sign Wood either, they sign and traded for him. Sweet Lou's little brain might have forgot that fact.
Morey really thought the wrong Curry and a washed up Danny Green would save one of the most disappointing teams last year. He really must be washed or he's still on that Carmelo/mcw/Ennis good sht.
i think in the first time harden spoke to the media, someone asked him about stone and harden answered they haven't even spoke yet. seems odd that the gm and star player have yet to speak. what if stone is the reason harden wants out? not sure how true but i heard on sports radio that some within the rockets were not pleased with the hire as they didn't think he deserved it and they didn't interview anyone for such an important position
Remember Faried? Who looked good his entire time for us? They must’ve stuffed him in a trunk like the mafia. Faried, Hartenstein, and Harrell ALL left underutilized after showing big time play in their last minutes. God, cxbby mentioned Marquese Chriss. My brain through all that out: Morey and D’Antoni REALLY sucked their last years here man.
This needs to get more attention. Stone may be better than Morey because he doesn't have a history of making GM's look foolish.
Who cares what Harden thinks he has one foot out the door. Stone has proved himself to be a good GM without a shadow of a doubt. He is young for a GM and still has his whole corporate future ahead of him. Him and Silas are great combo and their leadership make me excited for Rockets future. I aint breaking that up for Harden who might leave in a seasons time regardless if you do everything he wants or not.
For 1.6M you dont get a superstar. Harten got 9 pts 6 rebs last game. Great value for a min contract.
wait so if your boss is incompetent like Michael from the office, you have to quit your profession? I thought most people who work for a boss they didn’t like would resign from the job and find another job? Tillman is over his head in debt and hit hard by the pandemic and making the big calls. That’s his prerogative. But if you work for someone who is a crappy boss and you don’t believe you have the tools to do the job you need, then you resign which is what he did. Evidence of Tillman’s stupidity is letting him walk without a non-compete or extracting draft picks for someone who hires him. Likely Tillman was willing to let him go in exchange for not having to pay him.
I am the biggest Morey fan however ever since the Cp3 trade the moves the Rox have made have not been as sharp. For one thing the Rox stopped getting an influx of new talent, we kept cutting guys in favor of vets like francisco garcia or Luc Mbah Moute (who was perpetually injured). If Rox got a nice promising player like Melton, again they would be shipped out so we can sign washed vets. I understand the Rox were on "win now" mode but a franchise should balance win now with an eye to the future. Lakers are a good example of this not only are they favorites, their young pieces like AD, Kuzma, Carusso and THT are actually better than rebuilding teams like Hornets or Wizards. Second issue which really grated on my gears is the over reliance on analytics. Analytics make the world go round esp if you look at corporate, but at most analytics will give you 60% of the picture while Rox acted like it gave you 95% pf the picture. Pretty sure analytics were the reason the Rox let Ariza go (who would have resigned for 9M) in favor of Ennis the penis. Pretty sure that move destroyed that no 1 seed team since we lost Tucker+Ariza+Cp3 ult defense combo. Common sense will tell you end of rotation guy Ennis cant replace Ariza no matter what the analytics said, but the Rox did it anyway. There also other questionable moves like microball but that would take too long enumerate. My biggest gripe though is Morey's mancrush on Dumbtoni. It should have been clear dumbtoni is too dumb to coach a team to a championship, lack of adjustments and failure to implement any kind of play that isnt Harden hero ball or the "T" formation should have made that obvious. Morey even wanted to resign MDA again, man thank god MDA got sick of Fertits. Morey should have been quick to change HC after several failures instead of revamping everything BUT the HC every season. While I initially hated Morey walking away in retrospect I think he lost a lot of his mojo here in Houston. I've been so much happier with Stone at least he has "fresh eyes" and great energy for the franchise.
