Say no to Morey/Simmons (unless he’s going to a third/fourth team)

out of all the Harden trade options, MPJ is definitely my most preferred one...he has tremendous potential as a scorer and shooter

High injury risk (as many back surgeries as years of experience.) Missed his only college season & his rookie year with back surgery. Additionally, he's Harden-like Diva without the scoring titles & MVP.

If there’s ever a case of someone who got lucky. What portion of his success is attributable to the fact he happened to go to the same high school as a generational player seven years apart?

Pretty damn high, he likely could have been a local sports writer but that is about it. He doesn't have great connections with players or front offices. He has connections with other journalists and also some ex-players. He isn't a great personality either.

I would still take him over guys like Jaylen Brown because Porter has a very high ceiling and guys with the type of ceiling that Porter has are the rarest and most important quantities in the NBA. As for Porter's back, it is a concern but he has like a 7% chance of a need for another surgical follow up procedure over the next 5 years, and likely even less than that because he has passed year two since the surgery. Most high level athletes do not return to "normal" until two years post surgery.

He is the one guy we can possibly get that I can realistically look at and see as a true franchise player. He is capable of scoring over 25 points a night or more with his skill set.

It makes so much sense to try to reroute Simmons somewhere else that covets him as a PG for a player that actually fits in here. You have to assume John Wall is going to be here because as of right now, he has negative trade value until he can prove he’s heathy. John Wall is our PG for the foreseeable future so Ben being unable to shoot isn’t a natural fit here next to Wall.

And that 7% doesn't mean his career is over. Just means another surgery and should recover back to normal.

Glad to see Goldsberry a former Spurs front office staffer call Harden the best offensive player in the world.
