I have no clue what Tucker wants, but a 36-year-old free agent isn’t going to get a deal longer than two years, unless the third year only has a small partial guarantee. Any GM that offers him a longer contract than that deserves to be fired.

PJ should come off the bench, IMO, maybe I’m just going through a mental rebuild

PJ is our starter until we get to 10 games under .500 or we get someone better than him 6'8" + in the buyout market.

even if tate outplays him , you can reduce PJ minutes .. but if he wants to stay starter you do it. Plus you might need tate's speed to cover for cousins .

if we kept jeff green he could start .

damn . we needed a green. It gives house a boost. Damn clemons Achilles

He's whining about the previous years where he felt he used up his "prime" for us but in reality he got paid what his agent asked for and is blaming the franchise for skimping on his contract.

I highly doubt anyone else would pay him the rumored 20 mil contract extension that was supposedly in the talks. He's free to test the free market when he becomes a UFA. I think he'll be disappointed either way tbh.

Tbh, Tucker should be more of a professional and be like Ariza, who actually played out his contract then went for a big pay day. I don't blame Ariza at all when he wanted that big contract.

You and a lot of people here in this thread now turn your back on Tuck? A guy who has done what was asked of him for 4 years he has been here including guard bigs? A guy who throws his body around recklessly and plays hard every night? Tuck is going to play his game and it’s no secret. Corner 3s, rebounds, tough D, quick hands and extra hustle. He is a man and human being same as all you fools. If you were in his shoes you would want an extension of some sort as well and one that benefits you most.

You people act as if these guys aren’t deserving of any part of this business which profits billions off their physical labor. This is what Lebron has been preaching and practicing in terms of player empowerment. Because it’s a business that reaps the profit off the backs of these players. “We make the NBA go” he once quoted. Again if you were in the NBA you would want the most money and best situation for you and your family. This is not hard to understand. No need to judge and criticize a fellow man that is simply looking for compensation for his work which seeks to profit handsomely from players like him. And btw he loves Houston and wants to finish his career here.

It is about demand and Market value. Compared to other 3 and D guys in the league he is relatively a bargain. You can’t question his value on this team the past 4 years. He is a championship caliber player doing all the little things to win even sacrificing his body to guard bigs as he was asked to do. You can’t question the hustle and work ethic. As a player he naturally wants to be compensated for his body of work and is simply asking for an extension since he wants to stay here and finish his career. Any player wants the best for him and his family. You would too. And if you were in his shoes and tell me you don’t want the best for yourself you are a liar. Please don’t tell another man the “right” way to do things. At the end of the day it’s about securing for you and your family from a business that uses you for billions of dollars in revenue per year.

So you’re judging him off of one game into the season? At the end of the day it’s about getting compensated from a billion dollar industry that uses your talents to help produce a product. It’s about business. Negotiating. Any thinking individual would understand this and want the best for him and his family. Just as many of you negotiate for your salaries when taking a job or gripe about not getting a raise. Not a difficult concept to grasp. If you all can do it in the corporate world why can’t these basketball players do it when these NBA as a whole profits handsomely from them?

No one said DD knew basketball lol. Tuck didn’t cut anything btw DD. He played the short corner but was supposed to cut the baseline that would give harden passing lane. Lol

He's 35. He'll be 36 when his contract is up. He's been a decent role player (very good on defense, almost non-existent on offense, except for corner threes). His current contract has been adequate for what he has provided. He got close to 100k per game played or something. I would take that.

The only way he should get an extension is at most a two-year extension at the current contract level, with a team option for a second year. And that only if Harden stays. But if he keeps pouting, I'd rather see him traded.

Has nothing to do with not appreciating what he has been doing, but nobody gets better at 36. Those people arguing he should get a big contract based on past performance really don't understand how this works.

Let’s be honest Morey got him at a bargain and he probably deserved more his 4 years here relative to the market for premiere 3-D guys. He has stated he wants to retire here and would like an extension. The Rockets are worried about age and money. He isn’t doing anything wrong. Most fools on this board are chastising and insulting the man for wanting more for himself and his family especially when the league and teams profit directly from players hard physically labor and toil. Player empowerment. You all that are against this need to re evaluate your values. If any man on this thread says he doesn’t look out for himself and his family when negotiating a corporate salary he is lying through his teeth. Y’all are hypocrites. Shut up and leave PJ alone.

stop using dumbass language like pouting as if he were a kid. If you were a player you would want the best for yourself and family. Nothing wrong with that. Player empowerment. Read it. Understand it. Nothing wrong with it.

Pass to Wood is a difficult pass. Had to lob it over jones jr. who could have recovered on the run out. PJ should have cut in if he played the short corner. That’s an easy 2 catch and reverse layup.

Player empowerment? Dumbass language? What are you, 12?

These guys act like teenage girls on social media. Pouting is exactly the right word to describe what Tucker has been doing.

Huh? He wants to finish his career here. He wants the extension to stay here. The disagreement is about money. Again if you were an NBA player you would want money too. For you and your family. Why all this judgement and hatred for such a simple concept? What do you do for a living? Do you negotiate your salary when taking a position? Do you want a raise for your body of work? Ok please. Stop the judgement.

You are judgemental. Again if you were in their shoes would want the best for yourself and your family. What do you think player empowerment is about? Obviously you do not understand. This is the problem with people like you who sit there and judge when you yourself if Put in that position would simply want the most for yourself especially if a company is profiting from your talents. PROFITING. BILLIONS. BIG MONEY. YOUR LABOR. YOUR TALENTS. It’s called leverage. Please don’t give me moralistic self righteous bullshit.

So a player can’t think for himself? Can’t have gripes and complaints? No emotions allowed? I thought this was a free country as most of you would agree about freedom of speech and expression. No? Again many of you negotiate your salaries at corporations. Many of you have asked for a raise in your lifetime. It’s one thing to say that Rockets would be wise to not pay Tucker or that the team should focus on other free agents in 2021 etc but to demean and resort to name calling and assail his name is uncalled for and hypocritical. Nothing wrong with player empowerment. Nothing wrong with players having thoughts. No it’s not just shut up and dribble.
