Pride always comes before the fall.

Morey was great before he adopted and then amplified his celebrity.

I agree with the OP when he says Morey was washed when he left here.

Hopefully new blood in Stone can reignite the team vision and he can fill out the championship team Morey never could.

    ROX Nation!

There are posters on this board who will never utter Morey made mistakes just like there are posters that won't own up to Harden coming up short in the post season.

Morey set up the Wood deal before he left.

Morey was solid. Can you say building for a championship? With the rosters Morey put around Harden? lol

WE are building for championship. It doesn't matter if Harden stays or goes. We'll be a lick if he stay if he d
There is such a thing as playing it too safe.

1st year of Daryl Morey era,he drafted Donte Greene,Maarty Leunen and fans favourite Joey Dorsey whom Daryl called the "Best Big in the Country. .., who can guard 1 to 5...":D

after just one game post Daryl era, even his fans became aware of the scam they were subjected to for such a long time

    Yea...and then there this thread.

Which is filled with people who dont know basketball. Like zero....zilch. Nada. Morey had his flaws like any other gm but its undeniable that he's one of the best in the game.

Why is it that most low informed dudes in here always have the strongest opinion.

LOL Imagine thinking that after one game he's already out done Morey....what a joke.

    Is this true?

Who gave us Wood? Stone or Morey?

Hmm..the usual antiqe that worked every time:

Chandler Parson, McHale and Morey's bus tour with a billboard sign had convinced Wood to re-come to Houston

We had to give up Roco to get Woods remember that. If we still had Chris Paul we would also likely still have Woods as well.

Can I say he was building for a championship? Is that a rhetorical question? I genuinely hope it wasn't a serious one and that you don't know the answer to it.

Hey, remember how the greatest basketball team ever constructed was put together running rampant on the league, and nearly every single team in the league waived the white flag and acknowledged what's the point in trying to win, let's just accept we wont and wait out the Warrior dynasty. Apart from LeBron, do you remember who was the one team who said F that, we're gunning for them? Remember who that was? If you remember who that was you'll realise how laughable your question was about whether Morey really was building for a championship.

Some people on this forum are truly unbelievable.

I love.... absolutely LOVE how you say this as a bad thing.

Yet completely and utterly choose to ignore the whole trading Greene for Ron Artest thing that happened immediately following.

I wonder why that was. Oh that's right. Because it was a huge tick in the win column for Morey.

Wow. Nice attempt to push a narrative. What a hard fail.

lol Morey is gone. Let it go. I was his biggest defender. Stone has done what it took Morey years to do. Granted Morey gets full credit for actually getting that second star. Which we are still converting into assets til' this day. Morey wasn't perfect. Don't bash me for it. It's just truth. We would still be playing 6'8 forwards all game up front if MDA and Morey were still here. It was time to evolve for be left behind. Morey is no better than Harden. Using stats to prop himself up but ultimately in the end that doesn't save the team or it didn't won a championship. Hit stats couldn't predict we were going to go ICE cold. We could have won with or without Chris Paul if only we hit some shots. You also have to have a coach that can actually draw up some plays.

Morey doesn't figure out how the talent gets used, you are confusing the GM with the coach.

I love how people credit stone - for all these acquisitions as if they magically just appeared. Morey spends years following and analyzing players to acquire. Stone already knew who to get because that was figured out under Morey.

Morey IS washed if hes too dumb to trade simmons for harden. Its such a no brainer to fix all their issues. If the rockets were willing to take simmons morey should personally pack his **** and air drop it in houston.

Morey wasn't perfect. Which is why in a previous thread I've told someone to call him out for the things he deserves to be called out for. And then I named a couple. So i'll say the same to you. Call Morey out for things he deserves to be called out for.

So far what I've quoted in this thread are straws being clutched at and awfully missed.

I wish I understood basketball much less than what I do, kind of like how much you understand it.

That way I would be oblivious to the immediate future of this franchise if/when Harden leaves.
