Westbrook is toast. He can't finish at the rim consistently anymore and his jumper is as broke as ever. Moving on from him was a no brainer.

Stone doesn't want him that's why the whole 3rd team keeps coming up. Stone, a Morley Metrics disciple, knows Simmons is flawed and overvalued. Overvalued is a big no no for Rockets FO, has been and will continue to be.

You have to at least shoot better than Merkelle Fultz

Way to ignore the fact he showed up 3 hours early to training camp. That's the real championship.

some people on here will see what Harden did last night, and see what Westbrick’s been doing so far in Washington, and say we should’ve put the ball in Russ’s hands more when he was here o_O

Why are we talking about a Washington Wizard in the GARM?

First 2 games, over 50% of Russ's attempts are from mid-range. And no, his percentages aren't great. And 0-7 from 3 over two games isn't helping either.

Serious question, is Russ done as a quality starter in the league? Defenses aren't respecting his jumper anymore, and just hang back in the paint. And now he's not getting easy looks off 4 on 3 advantages anymore like he was from Harden double teams. I think teams have all agreed on a general playbook against him.

If he would use some discretion, and be a little more selective with his shooting, I think he is still a very valuable player. But at the moment, he should be a 15/7/7 player but he has the ego of a 30/10/10 guy. Not dissimilar from Carmelo Anthony of a few seasons ago.

Although we definitely took a big loss when we bought the Russ stock last season, I think we sold before it was too late.

The way WALL looks we STOLE him from Washington.

Russ is Steve Francis part 2, his athleticism is in full decline and teams have figured out you don't even have to guard him, it is ALL downhill for him from this point on.

Even if Wall never plays for the Rockets, getting rid of Westbrook was addition by subtraction. So if Wall plays well, the deal only becomes more lopsided.

At least Steve could make a jump shot occasionally.

So Ben Simmons will play Center, Christian Wood as a Power Forward John Wall as a Point Guard
So as a Offense what is Ben Simmons role on offense play as Draymond Green 10 Points 10 Rebounds 5 Assists
    .01% 3 Point Shooter

No, he would play point center/primary ball handler.

I guess this is what getting back to playing his style of basketball looks like. Hard to believe that he really felt stifled here when we completely rebuilt the team around him and allowed him to take more shots per game than James Harden. It’s absurd.

Reading Wizards fans comments about Westbrook right now is really making me feel so much better about the John Wall trade. These complaints have an eerily familiar ring to them lol.

    1. “Wizards fan and all I can say is he’s beyond frustrating. Won’t stop chucking jump shots when he’s worse at shooting than some college kids. His game is very not aesthetically pleasing and not smooth. Does the Westbrook experience get any better?”

    2. “This team is built to have Wall create easy opportunities for others. Westbrook is an attack dog with no sense of pace. Everything is head first and maybe something happens on offense. Its ugly to watch. Despite Beal looking like he raised his game to another level, we look completely out of sorts with Westbrook's frenetic style.

Westbrook doesn't look particularly explosive either which is the real concern. I don't see an explosive first step. Or lift. Its early... they didn't get a real preseason so it makes sense to say we need to give it time but some warning signs are there.”

    3. “Don’t give a damn about his stats....you’re not winning a thing if Russ is your starting pg.

Makes terrible decisions with the ball on offense, teams don’t even guard him when he’s off the ball, he doesn’t play defense outside of sagging back to get uncontested rebounds, and somehow an even worse shooter than Wall. But that energy though!”

    4. “He takes so many jumpshots when he's clearly not a shooter. There are so many high school kids who shoot better than this guy, just pass the ball and attack the rim, you're built like LeBron. I have no idea where he got this confidence to shoot.”

    5. “Can we get a mulligan on the Wall trade?”

going from Russ to Wall was an upgrade just based off the notion of addition by subtraction alone...then there’s the other reasons like Wall having a much better BBIQ, being a better shooter, and being a better half court orchestrator who doesn’t play wildly and always out of control
