Harden has always been a great regular season player. The perception of him isn't going to change even if he averages 40 this season.
The other option is we let Harden play out his contract, have him slowly get worse last his prime and then get absolutely nothing for him for a rebuild and are stuck with absolutely nothing.
given that it doesn't look like harden is gonna mail it in this season... might as well go all out and actually try to create a legit contender. use these last two years of harden's contract to really go for a championship... it's gonna be the closest the rockets will ever get to a ring in the next decade+. use the detroit/portland/wash first rders at the deadline to upgrade. worrying about the future after harden and settling for **** like ben simmons means the end for any type of discussion of contending. i'll settle for two years of actually having a chance rather than settling for a decade of mediocrity.
Can't beat the Lakers? Maybe so, but that is why they play the games. Davis is injury prone and LeBron is older and becoming more injury prone, too. We don't even know how good Wall and Cousins are going to be. Is Eric going to have one of his good years. The Lakers are good, but not peak Golden State. Harden never changing his mind on being traded is another thing. I think the next move is Tillman's. I find it hard that he can't make it right unless there is something that can't be undone. We can always get 75% on the dollar at virtually any time and no offers have reached that yet.
Is it possible to be a Harden fan, wish he would play here, and yet still be resigned to knowing he wants out, and wanting the best possible return??
Dude, Harden, the media, Morey, Tilman who leaked info, did all of these. Granted that Harden is the one who competed. It doesn't make the drama of two months just magically go away. I hope he answers this mess with a championship for his own sake.
Damn, that was the on-court harden that we love. I dont think we will ever get a value close to what is harden worth on whatever trade we will execute later..
harden doesn’t play above the rim. His game will age just fine. Unlike some of these athletic pg and 2 guards out here. 538 raptor has harden projecting out an mvp candidate by age 36
yep this game kinda hit me. There is nothing we will get that’s out there currently even close to what harden brings. This is a 30 point loss with other player besides harden, lebron and maybe luka I would take an Ingram, ball, josh hart and 4th pick type of deal and that’s probably fair
The OP does not seem to understand the general sentiment. Almost no-one here has said they don't think JH is an amazing player. The problem is keeping his word. He signed the deal and to get out of it he was willing to place the entire season in turmoil and at the same time set new lows for what players are willing to do to force their team to deal them for basically nothing. He then sends out his mommy to defend him with the public and the press. Nobody saw this game and went "wow" JH is a great basketball player... This is about being an honorable man.
Not really man harden is 32 next year and will be even more pissed if he wastes another year. Thats why I said 50 cents on the dollar cyz not only is he expiring he old as well. If Harden gets injured (Stars start breaking down 30+) then Rox would be lucky to get 10 cents on the dollar. You gotta stop dreaming, the Rox gave it a good fight for the.last 5 years its time to move on with Wood. Lebron is the greatest front runner in NBA history. If his team has an advantage then its over you have no chance of beating him. He has choked only once in his NBA career thats vs Mavs. Thats it. Every other time his team is better he has won thats why he has the most finals appearances in recent NBA history there is little to no variance in his results. I dunno next year but this year its a lock man Lakers winning that chip.
Stop looking at professional athletes as role models and you’ll feel better. He gets paid to play ball not be a honorable man.
Heh, if you think holding someone to their word makes them any sort of "role model" you are just wrong. Holding to the agreements you make should not be something to aspire to and look at "role models". Honoring your agreements is a very simple concept that does not require you attempt to emulate anyone.
Not going to bother talking to you. I explained the reason behind my avatar already - if you want to be a d******d, go for it.
