OK. Let’s do this: 4 team trade probably has to be done after January MAVS: kemba Walker: Doncic needs help in the backcourt CELTICS: harden, Tucker and trae burke ROCKETS: Jaylen brown, Dario saric, Nader + 6 FRPS 3 FRP from Celtics, 2 from Mavs, 1 FRP from Suns 2021 Celtics, 2023 Celtics 2025 Celtics 2024 mavs , 2026 mavs 2021 Suns SUNS: Tim hardaway Jr., Chris Clemons
I agree and disagree. Fans tend to be irrational...however the outcome of the beginning of a season can absolutely alter a “predetermined” decision (whether it was to make a trade or not). Teams underestimate (and overestimate) how good they’ll be every year. If you have a superstar out there for the taking AND you believe he can have an impact on altering your current course, a decision is typically made. Clearly two games is early, but let these “contending” teams popping up in the Harden sweepstakes continue to struggle.... the harden sweepstakes heat up and owners and GMs tend to “panic” especially if they believe they’re in the contending window.
I still don’t think Ainge trades Jaylen for him but the more I think about it... the more I think he should. is 20/21 Tatum on 17/18 CP3 level? Yes, imo if not better. is he a better fit next to Harden? Yes. is Steven’s a better coach than MDA? Yes. we’re the 17/18 Warriors clearly a tier above 20/21 Nets, Bucks, 76ers, Heat, etc. Yes... undoubtedly. so with Harden the Celtics can be a comparable tram to the 17/18 Rockets if not better while having to defeat “lesser” competition in their conference on the way to the Finals. If I’m the Rockets I need at least 2 FRPs and 2 pick swaps with it.
he was out there a month ago when we had training camps. I’m just telling you, yes a team could overreact, smart ones won’t. Smart ones know now and before how they valued harden and if they were all in or interested in him. the exception is Philly whose duo has underwhelmed and wants to see how a roster shakeup and new coach works.
Tatum and Harden would be the best duo in the East imo. Not sure how well the rest of the team would stack up.
Tucker and Smart and Harden and Tatum best offensive and defensive duo in nba. Pushes Celtics to finals
I mean... it kind of does, lol. no analogy is perfect. But (A) Harden + Tatum + Stevens > (B) Harden + CP3 + MDA (C) 17/18 Warriors > (D) East teams this year if you thought (B) when healthy > (C) then... (A) >> (D) math bro!! lol that’s the logic... not that it would definitively work.
You know exactly how the rest of the team stacks up. BK in a landslide. Boston is already capable of making the ECFs....trading for harden puts them in the same position, still not good enough to make it to the finals if they have to give up brown.
It would really depend on the entirety of the trade. Harden and Tatum is the second best duo in the league if you ask me. And I’m not going to give Brooklyn any passes at all. KD and Kyrie have to prove that they can stay healthy. Without them they are just another also ran. With them they are a top 3 team in the East.
Anybody other than the Nets and Hardhead can hang up any championship aspirations because whoever gets Blames will have a seriously depleted team.
I can’t wait for when Harden goes for 40+ triple-doubles in the next 2 games and Celtic fans start acting like maybe they should include average Brown in trade talks. Lol.
