Takes games off in the playoffs but balls out im regular season? Okkkkkkk What do Celtics need to be great? A sure fire scorer bc Tatum and brown are not capable of carrying offense through playoffs. You don't think they feel he can be the diff?
The picks were for PG AND kawhi. He wasnt going to sign if they didnt get a deal for another star done AD was 25. Doesnt matter if it was an opt in for cp3. Hes a player in his 30s who couldnt make it to the WCF because he choked. Even wifh years left he would not have got a young all star guard in return. James is at the END of his prime, not the beginning. Dont group him in wifh AD its not the same.
everything you just said about Harden in the playoffs is media junk and is not backed by the stats. He’s averaged 26-32 PPG in each of last EIGHT playoff runs, while averaging between 6-9 assists per game, plus probably leading the league in playoff steals. Lebron is the better player. No question there. Harden is the 2nd best player in the league, and a significantly better playoff performer than Giannis. the fit argument is ridiculous. He’s the best offensive player on the planet. Figure it out. He does everything amazingly well. There is not a single weakness in his offensive game.
youre right. Harden is a significantly better player than AD, then and now. He’s has substantially better team and personal success than AD, consistently.
Of course some team is going to take a flyer on Harden as they should. And I do agree that Brown and Tatum won't be nearly enough this year in the East. My only issue with Boston is Danny Ainge. He is notoriously difficult to trade with. Probably one of the most frugal GM's in the whole entire NBA imo. As far as Harden goes that has simply been his narrative, everyone knows he will play great in the regular season but in the playoffs are when the big question marks come out for James. A narrative that I can't personally blame the media for, because it's a narrative that he help to create on his own. Is that your first time hearing this? This national media is stupid, but not everything they say is BS. Some of the talking points that the national media uses are actually factual, you just have to be able to eat the meat and throw away the bone. In James's case, he has had some great playoff games too but he has been known to disappear in big playoff games.
lol. Yes of course..it’s ad that got them that ring. The guy that could barely sniff the playoffs before he teamed up with Lebron. Dude. Houston and New Orleans are in the same division. We’ve seen tons of each other for years. The overrating of AD has always been a joke. Harden took teams with equivalent talent way farther than AD ever did.
It's not media junk bro, I have watched every single James Harden playoff game. I even record the games and play them back and break down the plays, I can gladly give you a list of games where Harden has simply not showed up in or did not do his part to close the game out. See you are bringing up PPG in the playoffs and while in theory that might sound logical, but I've been around the game too long to know that is more to winning and losing a game and especially a playoff game than PPG. That might work on one of these young heads here but that won't work on me, you are going to have to dig a lot deeper than PPG bro. And if you think Harden is the second best player in the NBA then with all due respect you definitely don't know $hit about basketball. I'm not trying to be mean but you really need to learn the game more if you really honestly think that. Harden does not move well with out the ball at all, he has somewhat of a post game but he never hardly uses it, he over dribbles, passes into traffic all the time, doesn't switch properly, rarely ever takes what the defense gives him, just to name a few things off the top of my head. Harden definitely has a few flaws in his game and if you think he doesn't have any flaws rather that be offensively or defensively then I don't know what you are really out here watching other than highlights.
Former MVP should be very valuable. His game should translate for another 5-6 years. I will continue to let y'all argue about the flaws in Hardens game.
Saying he takes games off sounds voluntary something he can control. Saying he fails to show up in big games at times seems to suggest an involuntary character make up. Big difference between what you said the first time and this time in my opinion but I may just be nitpicking.
After losing miserably against Brooklyn, the Celtics now realize they can’t win the eastern finals with their current line up. If they want to win “now”, they have to pull the trigger on Harden.
James has taken games off in the playoffs and has failed to show up too in playoff games. Both have occurred. Are those two different things? Yes, but both have happened.
It's not about arguing the flaws in Harden's games or trying to tear him down. But when a poster sits here and says that James Harden has no flaws in his offensive game that's absurd on all levels. Every single player has holes in their game, even guys like: Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, Kobe, Hakeem, Shaq, LeBron, etc had holes. No player or person will ever be perfect and that's ok. Nothing wrong IMO with being a fan of a particular player, but true love for the game is not only embracing a players strengths but their weaknesses too.
It's gotten to the point where I scroll thru these threads and only stop for tweets or a particularly interesting take.
