I think the Celtics are trying to up Browns value right now - he's suddenly taking 25 shots a game which he didn't do before
That's exactly right. Quite a few teams are reading the tea leaves now. We need a few more "contenders" to start the season off slow. I truly believe Stone is going to get the best possible return for James.
Well i think the multiple picks would be centerpiece. They probably have more than any other team can offer. Im not saying thats the deal we should go after but i just dont see them as a threat to the nets if they cant keep brown. In that case there is no reason to do the deal unless they can somehow get a very good player from a tnird team.
They don't have any picks left AFAIK, other than their own. Which would just be late first rounders which are pretty much useless as a centerpiece.
perhaps, but Kemba is injured and Hayward left with no replacement Who else is there to take shots other than Tatum?
So you think theyre saying, "hey jaylen shoot more so we can trade you"? Hes shooting more because hayward is gone and kemba is hurt. The bulk of the offense is all on Tatum and brown.
of course they wouldn't communicate it that way, but since Tatum is obviously "The guy" for the celtics right now, just wondering why they have almost the exact same number of shots instead of Tatum taking more of them. It's not that outlandish to try and make your players look like they're worth more than you originally thought.
Ainge really values those young guys. He wouldn't even trade any of them for A.D. who is younger, and brown hadnt made this leap yet. Its very hard to believe he would do it now for a player much older than AD while brown is even better than he was.
AD had 1 year left on his deal and never shown any desire to play for Boston. It was pretty obvious that he wanted to go to the lakers after he got Rich Paul as his agent. Harden even "officially" put Celtics on his trade destination list. Btw, why are the Celtics now "we"? Are you a celtics fan? If so, what you say makes a lot more sense.
Have y'all seen the current Celtics lineup? They are definitely a team that needs to add another "star". Tatum alone ain't gone cut it. And even if Kemba comes back healthy I don't think he is enough to put the C's over the top against the Nets and the Bucks in the East.
He* Like i said i dont tnink harden/tatum can beat kyrie/KD and their depth. If trading for harden isnt enough then keep the younger player. Its gotta be the sixers that get this deal done
I get what youre saying but what if KD's achilles turns out to be good enough for 50 games but can't hold up with the stress in the playoffs. Suddenly you let go of the opportunity to go to the finals just because u kept your "assets" together. Ainge absolutely ripped the Nets off with that KG,Pierce deal but for some reason, Nets are up on the celtics now. Horting FRPs ain't worth ****. Ainge has to know that by now and i think he does.
I don’t want Brown if he’s the only meaningful asset we are getting back. WITH someone like MPJ, fine, but not alone. He’s a good player that might sneak into an all-star or 2 in the East, but wouldn’t sniff it in the West. A 3rd best player on a championship team...not someone that has the gravity to pull another star to Houston in the future.
I frankly don't give a sh*t if Harden is enough to get the Celtics or the 76ers to the promise land. All I care about is what's the best package either team or possibly more teams can give me for Harden's services. Let all these so called contenders struggle out the gate, bring on the bidding war.
We need Boston and denver to start the season like rubbish so they feel like they have to get a deal done
Might not be as big of a war as you tnink. I keep telling yall no one is going to put themselves out of contention by giving up too much for james. I think only number of picks changes.
